Visited ninang and ninong today. After the 4th of July, we haven’t got together with my DD’s godmother and her family. Today we got the chance to schedule a visit with them. Our couple friend prepared lunch for us. They were happy to see the little one, of course.
In Philippine tradition, godparents serve as the second parents of a child. They give guidance, help, and advice to the child when he or she needs it. They treat the godchild as their own, too.
What excites DD the most was to see their pets. Her godparents have three poodle dogs. The little had a great time chasing and playing with them. She even told us that she wants a dog. Oh my! I don’t think we can afford to have a pet right now. We only have one child but our house is a mess! Hahaha! Sometimes I cannot keep up with the chores. Being a full time wife and stay-at-home mom really needs time and effective organization. That’s why I don’t hesitate asking for advice especially when I need it.
Today, was total fun with our friends. We had good and funny conversations that made our day. It’s great to visit friends once in a while. It keeps the bond of friendship strong. Plus, DD gets lots of treats too. 🙂
Filipino words ninang and ninong are godmother and godfather in English.
