A Child-Friendly Learning Environment ( Momimhar posted on March 18th, 2013 )

My darling daughter is now 2 years old and in the toddler stage where she can be trained to be independent for a little while. I guess this is the preschool age. Moms like me who want to go back to work, think of enrolling their young kids to play school or daycare. I went to visit the site of the play school in our town and it seems like it would be interesting to tour around.

When my husband and I knew that we were expecting, he wanted me to stop working for a while so I could focus on my pregnancy and take care of the baby after delivery. And yes, I did it. I am very proud of myself that, despite the lack of sleep and baby blues, I am keeping my sanity. Hahaha! Kidding aside, being a parent requires hard work in order to have happy kids and keep the family in good harmony.

One part of the parents’ responsibilities involves providing our children the opportunity to get a high quality education. Starting at a very young age, preschoolers should be in a school where they get the learning they need. This will give them a head start. My husband and I has been talking about enrolling our darling daughter in preschool. But we agreed to wait until she is 4. I just brought it up to him because my cousin’s kid is in Connecticut day care. She said the facilities are very appealing and have a very child-friendly environment. There is a CT preschool close to her house. Now that her daughter is going there, she has more time for taking care of the house and being with her youngest child as well. We were talking about my plan of going back to work and she is excited for me, and I am looking forward to it. Hopefully I can find a place like CT daycare for my darling daughter.

Our Plan During The Holy Week ( Momimhar posted on March 18th, 2013 )

Clocks were an hour forward and Spring will officially start in 2 days.  DST or Daylight Savings Time is on again.  I am sure some of us are still adjusting to the time especially when putting our kids and toddlers to bed.  We can’t get used to it until a few days passed.

Holy Week is next week.   Then Easter Sunday comes.  My family and I are going to church for the Easter Sunday Mass.  Then we’ll go to an Easter Egg Hunt at a friends house where she also hosts her young boy’s birthday party.  We won’t be seeing the grandparents on Easter Sunday because of the early commitment.  Almost the same reason in the next three weekends.   So, my husband and I decided that we (darling daughter and I) go to Tyler next Thursday during the Holy Week.  My mother-in-law said she doesn’t have something going on that day so it’s fine to come over.  For the very first time, my little girl and I will be traveling without daddy.  It will be quite difficult because I don’t have two extra hands to help me with stuff.  But I am confident that we’ll be fine.

For the Easter Egg Hunt, I already bought an Easter dress for my little one.  There are so many pretty, cute Easter and Spring dresses, and toddler outfits in stores and online.  I cannot help myself checking on them.  Little girls’ clothes are just adorable!

Kids’ Interest And Enthusiasm In Schooling Begin In Our Homes ( Momimhar posted on March 18th, 2013 )

Summer vacation starts tomorrow.  And the kids back home cannot wait for the vacation.  Closing of classes in most schools in the Philippines begins tomorrow.  We are very glad that my niece and nephews don’t have any failed grades.  They will be moving up to the next grade levels in the next school year.

Though my niece did not make it to the Achiever’s List this year, she’s happy that she got good grades.  I know that high school has a broad coverage of general education, and there are lots of requirements that should be met by the students.  I experienced those things when I was in high school, too.

My nephew, on the other hand, has two awards in his class.  Best Achiever and Most Neat and Clean.  He’s in the Fourth Grade.  Well, that’s surprising.  He is very happy…everyone is happy.  Pre-school and Kindergarten just had their closing ceremony a couple of weeks ago.  My other nephew who’s in Pre-school classes is excited that he will be in Kindergarten next school year.  How nice to know that the kids have the interest and enthusiasm when it comes to schooling.  Specially when they receive honors and awards in addition to the full support of parents and family.  I am certain that my little one will be very smart and active in school, too.  I love them so much!  They are my bright bundles.

And so, as a treat, I will pay the entrance fee to our favorite resort.  My niece and nephews and the rest of the family wants to go swimming after the Holy Week.
