Christmas decorating is one of our favorite things to do and it’s the time of year again to do so. As soon as we got home from the Thanksgiving Day visit with the family we helped our daddy bring all the Holiday decorations down from the attic. I bought a new Christmas tree from Target when it went on special last year. From $69.00 for a 7-foot tall tree, it went down to $25 with free shipping.
Darling daughter loves decorating our Christmas tree. I let her put some of the ornaments on the Christmas tree while I look for the special ones I kept in my closet. “Good luck,” said the hubby. 😀 Fortunately, I found it in no time. DD took a break from decorating so I took the opportunity to rearrange the ornaments and finish up trimming the tree.
Presenting our Christmas tree for 2019. We’re so delighted with the result. Ninety five percent of the hanging ornaments were from the previous years’. I didn’t buy any new ones this year.
This morning we saw our scout elf on the mantle. Pinkie Elf is back. Darling daughter was wondering when will Pinkie be back. She was talking about her elf during Thanksgiving Break. DD went to sleep happy.
If you are lucky enough to have one or more babies in your family right now, you may be thinking about what you will get them for the holidays. After all, the holiday shopping season is fast approaching, and many people like to get all of their shopping done as early as possible to save themselves money and stress. Babies are one of life’s greatest delights, but the truth is that they can be hard to shop for, especially when they are very young. If you’re not sure how to shop for the littlest ones in your life, here are a few tips to help you get started.
The first thing to think about when you’re shopping for a holiday gift for a baby in your life is their parents. After all, the parents are the ones who will actually be opening the gift and they are the ones whose tastes really matter. If you want to be a hit with the parents, pick something for their baby that fits with their opinions and styles. For example, a Seahawks onesie would be perfect for sports fans from Seattle, or a little superhero shirt would be great for a fan of comic books.
Next, think about the baby and what he or she would enjoy. Of course, you can’t know any particular baby’s real tastes, and babies change every day, but use common sense to pick some appropriate. Don’t buy anything that a baby can’t safely play with, which means that it must be safe enough to put in their mouth. Choose something soft and snugly to make sure that a baby will want to hold it close and touch it often. Pick something bright and colorful to get his or her attention and delight.
Finally, don’t stress about it. The most important gift that you can give to any baby in your life is the gift of time. Take some time this holiday season to spend with all the little ones that you love.
I subbed in Kindergarten few days ago, and it was a Polar Express Day. The school’s PTO organized this event for the students every Christmas season. The children loves it. They get to wear their favorite pajamas to school and bring their favorite pillows or stuffed toy (lovey for the younger ones). Then they get to watch the Disney animated movie Polar Express while eating popcorn and having some chocolate milk delivered room-to-room by the PTO members.
It was indeed a special event for the students. Their excitement was to the roof. In fact, almost all of the children in the class I subbed kept asking me when will the Polar Express gonna start. 🙂 They’re so adorable. They can’t wait for Christmas.
We had a great time at the Christmas Party at my dear friend R’s home first weekend of this month. We all agreed to have it early this year because one of our friend was leaving for Singapore and won’t be back until the week after New Year’s. Though we had to rush a few things a bit, everything went according to plan. Our theme this year was Great Gatsby. 🙂 It was a potluck and all the party needs and party supplies were bought from Amazon and Party City.
Black, gold, and silver balloons. The decorating crew was busy.
Gift wrapping crew.
The children had a blast. The games were very exciting and entertaining. Every child who were at the party was given a Christmas gift to open on Christmas Eve. Of course, grown ups exchanged gifts, too. We played the White Elephant Exchanging Gifts game and it was a lot of fun.
Darling daughter enjoyed the company of her friends as well. She said it’s one of the best days ever. I am glad. I want her to have great memories with her friends, too. Another thing is that, I want my daughter to learn the concept of sharing. In fact, she is now learning to let go of her old toys, outgrown clothes, and books and donate them which is good.
