Today is the first day of school. It’s darling K’s first day of First Grade.
Oh my! It is back to school again. K is now officially a First Grader. Today, we received the postcard from her new teacher. And we met her this evening at the new school. All the school supplies needed for the whole year were submitted this evening.
As you know, our school district did some rezoning because K’s previous school is over populated. The students who are affected with the rezoning will attend the newer elementary school, which is 5 miles distance from our house. Hopefully, K will be joined by a few of her classmates in Kindergarten from her previous school. She will be delighted about that seeing a familiar face.
Being a transferee makes you feel uneasy. It is always takes time to adjust to the new school. I was a transferee, too, when I was in school. In fact, I was transferred to three schools because my family moved three times-twice during my grade school days and once when I was in middle school. It was tough because I didn’t remember my parents encouraged me or comforted me during the adjustment period. This is a new challenge for me to surpass. I will do my best to be able to give my child the encouragement she needs in this transition.
K is somewhat excited, though. This is because she will not be able to see her cousin in the new school. My cousin and I talked to our girls and assured them that everything will be fine. They will be seeing each other again in Middle School, and they will always have play dates.
Though I am not quite excited for the back to school coming Monday, but I am happy that we all had a wonderful summer. I am hoping for a great school year, too.
How about you?
Hello! It’s August. I bet most of you have been to your summer getaway already. It is always enjoyable to be vacationing with the family especially when the school is out. I can’t wait for our family’s summer vacation to Corpus Christi this year. It is going to be a wonderful one for sure.
It is summer season so it is super hot and humid. We are definitely going to the beach and Schlitterbahn Riverpark in Corpus Christi-North Padre Island. So we are going swimming! I have been shopping for girls’ swimwear at every online stores and nearby stores. I was looking for a cheap swimwear but not compromising the quality of the material. Of course I wanted something that has a good SPF on it. I also looked for designs and styles that are neat. My darling daughter wears a life preserver or life vest every time we go swimming. Sometimes she gets rashes from the life vest. So I preferred buying a rash guard swimwear set and I found them at Gymboree.com. They had the set on discounted sale with free shipping. Plus, an extra 20% coupon was sent to me since I am a Gymboree Rewards member. So I purchased the set for $8.00 including taxes with free shipping. Good deal huh?
I always find great deals and high quality kids clothing at Gymboree. These summer dresses were $3.50 each at the store. I bought two for K, and she said she likes them.
This week is my darling daughter’s second level of swimming lessons. The class is introduced to water movements. The first level swimming class was about water acclimation where the students were taught to feel confident in the water so they won’t be scared whatsoever. Level 2 is about water movement. Students are taught about recommended and proper water movement in swimming. Also, breathing techniques are introduced as well as proper floating and to get off the water by themselves.
K was joined with my friend’s daughter Ari because my cousins’ are on vacation. The instructor teaches the students in the 5-feet deep water then takes them to the 8-feet deep water for the jumps.
There are a lot of fun things going on this summer vacation. Besides swimming classes for darling daughter, birthday parties and special event invitations are keep coming in.
Yesterday, DD got invited to a birthday pool party. It was not a Luau Party. Just a typical kids pool party. Darling daughter enjoyed it very much. As you know, she likes swimming. My dear friends and I watched over the young ones because the pool was quite deep. That is why wearing a life preserver is very important even in a shallow pool. Age-appropriate and US Coast Guard approved life jackets should always be handy, and adult supervision is advised on young children.
As for the party, my dear friends and I had fun catching up while the kids were swimming in the pool. This is the very first time K and I went to a pool party. There were lots of food and we met new friends. It was awesome.
