Hello! My mom and I are having breakfast at 10:30 A.M. My dad said that we will be back to being night owls because school is out. He is funny. 🙂
It’s the first weekend of summer break. My mom and I are going to visit her best friends in Fort Worth today. One of them, Tita N (tita is Tagalog word for aunt), is holding a birthday party for three of the lady friends at her house. We are spending the night at her house also. It would be fun because I really really would like to see the cats, Bambi and Brutus. It is going to be fun!
Okay, this is all for now. My mom said we are going to Dollar General to buy some drinks to bring to the party.
Royal blue graduation gowns.
K’s school had it’s yearly Field Day this morning. All elementary students were geared up and excited for this amazing day to show their physical capabilities on fun games and to enhance their social development and sportsmanship.
The event was held at the high school athletic facility. Students, together with their respective teachers, facilitating staff, and attending parents gathered at the athletic field for a great day of fun.
The activities/sports were facilitated according to stations. Each station had at least three assigned coordinator so the children were well-guided at these games: Bouncy Ball Race, Sponge Water Splash, Relay Race, Soccer game, and the classic game of Tug-O-War.
Sponge water splash.
K enjoyed the bouncy ball race and the sponge water splash most. She didn’t get the chance to guard the goal and got to kick the ball only once at the soccer game. But she had fun playing. That’s the most important part of the Field Day. Having fun. Then we had a picnic lunch under the bleachers because it’s shady and the wind was very refreshing. Then we had Kona Ice after lunch. Yay!
Kona Ice. Yay!
The school was prompt sending announcements about this special event. We were well-prepared for the Field Day. It’s a hot cloudy day and the wind was blowing pretty hard. We brought:
- Extra clothes
Another memorable and fantastic day today. 🙂
What do you and your kid(s) do after school? Does your child have after school activities like swimming, martial arts, music lessons, dance and art classes, gymnastics, and workshops that he or she will continue attending while on summer break?
I know some of my mommy friends send their children to one or two of the activities I mentioned above during the week after school. My darling daughter was in a ballet class two years ago. She doesn’t want to do that again because she said it’s boring. 🙂 We also tried to put her in tumble and ballet combo but still she got bored. Then we tried gymnastics with ASI Gymnastics Trial invite last year before Kindergarten. She enjoyed it-lots of activity in each session. She went once a week that time and looked forward to the next class. I noticed then that she really enjoyed gymnastics. But I have three things in mind that I want her to do this summer-swimming, piano, and gymnastics. But with our schedule, I think I will drop one. It is hard to decide since all of them are very essential.
My husband and I should talk about this with proper consideration because availing these classes are not cheap.
