Family Summer Beach Vacation ( Momimhar posted on July 29th, 2020 )

We had a lot of fun on our summer beach vacation this year. Darling daughter has been wanting to go to the beach so she got her wish. We went to Gulf Shores, Alabama. It’s our first time to be at the Alabama Beaches. It was a very long drive but we made to and back safe and sound.

We stopped in Slidell, Louisiana for a night because we wanted to visit dear husband’s high school. It was a good feeling to know where your significant schooled. He said a lot has changed in 38 years. We had dinner at Fatty’s Seafood Restaurant in Slidell. Their seafood platter and gumbo was really good that we were stuffed we almost couldn’t walk to the car. Haha!

K’s excited was to the roof. She had a lot of questions about the hotels, restaurants, and of course, the beach. Six days and five nights in Gulf Shores are enough for the three of us.

An hour after we checked in at the Comfort Inn in Gulf Shores, we headed towards the beach immediately. We got there before the Gulf storms so the waves are quite swelling those days. But we had a great time playing in the sand and riding the waves. There was only one day when it rained so hard and gusty winds blew the sands all over the place. The next two days were amazingly sunny. Wave boarding was a lot of fun. There were many people on the beach but we maintained distanced from one another. Everything was fine.

Family Fun Concert By The Lake Series 2020 ( Momimhar posted on July 17th, 2020 )

Last night was super fun. We went to Rockwall to see a concert with friends. Concert by the Lake Series 2020 at the Harbor in Rockwall (TX) features talented bands from all over Texas touring and performing in special events like this. Blaze of Glory Band was the featured band last night. As a rock fan, I didn’t miss this performance tribute to Bon Jovi. This is a family-friendly event so everyone can enjoy.

Darling daughter was happy that we were able to go see the concert. Our Summer Break 2020 is quite busy despite of the COVID-19 pandemic. We make sure we have a lot of fun and staying safe and healthy at the same time.

Summer Break This Year Means More Time To Spend With Your Family ( Momimhar posted on June 3rd, 2020 )

It is Summer Break my dear friends! I know each one of you is excited to go on vacation and family visits. But with this COVID-19 pandemic still going on, how can we do that? Though some states in the country are starting to re-open slowly, we still need to observe social distancing and wear face masks. Going out for some outdoor fun in groups is not quite safe, staying home is still recommended.

Summer vacation is one of my favorite times of the year. This is when I don’t have to wake up very early in the morning on weekdays. 😀 I get to sleep late in the mornings and I like it a lot. My darling daughter does the same. We wake up at around 10:00 o’clock in the morning (the latest) when the school is out. Workshops and summer camp schedule is in the afternoon so our day is not in a rush. We just start slow and enjoy the day.

Besides outdoor games and my daughter’s summer camp, my family and I play video games at home. This is one of the fun games my daughter and I do on weekends. Sometimes my dear husband joins us to play, too. Three years ago he bought a Super Mario Kart 8 video game for his daughter three as a Christmas present. We have been enjoying the game on the Wii U from then on.

There are lots of interesting age-appropriate video games. And if you are shopping for games for the family, Rakuten store has gaming consoles and games for all ages and game system types. I am thinking of getting the Animal Crossing game sometime soon. With its good reviews online, I think my darling daughter will like it. It looks fun.
