Happy 14th birthday to my little darling. She’s so grown now. And in 8th Grade, she’s starting to feel the sense of independence. She’s showing and expressing interest in a specific career potential. Her enthusiasm for sports is getting stronger. Middle school is pretty busy but she is diligent.
Celebrating her 14th birthday this year, we just booked at a local Urban Air Adventure Park and invited her close friends from school. Everybody had a great time jumping on the trampoline, zip lining, and playing dodge ball and basketball. Lots of activities at the adventure park. Two hours is not enough. 🙂
Wishing little darling a very happy birthday. May the Lord’s blessings be with you always, sweetheart. ‘Love you so much.
Several weeks ago, we went to a cabin summer getaway with some close friends of mine. It was my dear friend K who actually asked everyone in our friend circle if any of us wanted to join. The cabin location was in Hochatown, Oklahoma, where the popular Beaver’s Bend State Park is. This friends and family get-together plan has been long overdue because we couldn’t get an ideal schedule for some reason. Finally, it came true.
So my friend booked an 8-room cabin near the state park. The luxury cabin is called Lakeside Mansion, and it was huge! It’s a fully-furnished cabin with big patio, outdoor jacuzzi, and a fishing deck. It was a 4 days and 3 nights weekend accommodation for 8 families with young children and teenagers.

Because it was located near the state park, and it’s summer, we had a lot of fun. Water activities and swimming in the river kept the young ones busy. Us moms got busy with the cooking and chaperoning. The dads stood as guardians and took care of the expenses. Haha.
Also, it was a Father’s Day weekend, so we prepared a restaurant fine dining dinner for the dads at the cabin that Saturday night. We cooked:
Brisket
Chicken Fajitas
Mashed Potatoes
Clam Chowder
Salad
Wine
Us moms had our own dinner table. We prepared a “Boodle Fight” style table. All the food was spread out in an arranged manner on banana leaves.
I know you are one of the parents who are excited and couldn’t wait for the Spring Break to come. Yes it is getting hear. Actually, in our district, Spring Break is next week starts on March 11th. Hopefully the weather next week is ideal for outdoor activities so we can enjoy going to the parks or any attractions in and around Dallas-Fort Worth.
My darling daughter wants to go to the zoo and the botanical gardens next week. Like I said, I hope the weather would be fine next week because I am pretty sure the zoo will be crowded as usual. Like last year’s Spring Break, we are just going to do stay-cation this year. We went to the zoo and botanical gardens and looks like we are going do that again.
Do you have any travel plans on Spring Break this year? Where are you going? Thanks for sharing.
