Our darling daughter K has officially joined Civil Air Patrol last month. She had been wanting to apply since she was in 7th Grade. We thought she was not ready yet, and back then, she was pretty much occupied with school activities.

K was determined. During the summer, she showed us the presentation slides she prepared about Civil Air Patrol. We were surprised because she told us she had researched and prepared the slides for us to see and convince. The determination in her eyes was unmistakable. We agreed and told her she can apply to join Civil Air Patrol when we get back from summer vacation.

So when this school year opened and her class schedules were all set, she applied online and had a Zoom interview with the squadron leaders. After the interview, she attended the meetings as a guest once a week for three weeks. She took leadership tests and physical training tests as well. When she passed all the testing, she’s officially a Civil Air Patrol cadet.
