My Baby Shower Part II ( Momimhar posted on October 25th, 2013 )

So the second Baby Shower Party for me was held in October 2010.  My dear husband’s former co-employee hosted the party at her house.  It was attended by my friends in the Wesleyan Bible Study Group.   My mother-in-law came over, too.

I never knew how a baby shower party was held until I had one.  Oh not only one but two baby showers. 🙂  I didn’t even have an idea what it was before because, as far as I can remember, none of the people I’ve known – from my girl friends to my female co-employees – back home had one.  So this was one of the special events for me.  To me, celebrating the upcoming baby is special.

Our dear friend was very helpful with everything that she held the party at her house.  My DH and I were so thankful to her.  Hosting a baby shower party wasn’t easy.  We appreciated all the efforts of the hosts.  They kept the guests entertained with the prepared baby shower games.  The food was great.  Besides the main entrees, some of the guests brought a dish to share with everyone.  A sweet gesture that’s highly appreciated.

I received lots of beautiful great gifts for my baby including diapers, wipes, baby essentials, winter clothes for baby, and a bedding set.  One of the best gifts was the stroller.

Throwing Fits ( Momimhar posted on December 20th, 2012 )

I think my little princess did great through the whole flight from Texas to South Korea.  That was a 14-hour flight and she did not throw a single fit.  She just played with stickers, watch Cinderella movie, read a storybook, and slept.

But when we have already landed in Manila, she began being irritable we were getting off the plane.  We woke her up in the middle of her sleep and she didn’t like it.  But we had to.  At the airport, she was miserable.  She was throwing a fit, crying out loud, and wiggling – trying to get out of the stroller.  The crowd, the line, and the noise at the airport added to her irritability.  My husband and I was feeling frustrated already waiting at the baggage claim area to get our stuff.  The whining did not stop until we’re out of the airport.  When the hotel shuttle picked us up, my darling daughter stopped crying.  We can tell that she was tired and sleepy.

The hotel bed looked very inviting.  We couldn’t wait to lay down and sleep.  But we had to get cleaned up and eat something.  As soon as we’re done, we snuggled and went to sleep in no time.  We got up at about noon the next day.  Ah,  traveling with a toddler is sometimes frustrating.

Baby Has Graduated ( Momimhar posted on January 30th, 2012 )

Today, we went to Red Lobster for a birthday lunch.  My parents-in-law are here and they gave us a treat for my birthday.  Another blessed year for me.  I am getting old :).

My little princess is 13 months now.  She is getting taller and heavier too.  My husband and I decided to let her sit facing forward now because she is feeling uncomfortable in her rear-facing car seat.  According to Texas Law, it is required that babies stay rear-facing until 12 months age with the height or weight limit of the car seat.  This is for the child’s safety in the vehicle, http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/director_staff/public_information/carseat.htm.

We looked for a good quality forward-facing car seat for babies.  Besides affordability, we also wanted the baby gear to be durable and well-cushioned for traveling.  We found and compared a couple car  seats but we agreed to pick the one from Graco.  It is well-cushioned and can be converted into a booster seat too.  My baby has graduated now.

Anyway, we all enjoyed lunch and had a great time visiting.
