Covid-19 Vaccine ( Momimhar posted on March 20th, 2021 )

Hello everyone! Happy Spring! How are you doing lately? I hope everything is doing fine.

As for me, my family and I are doing great! No sickness so far…thank goodness. We were doing our best to keep each other healthy. Although, the mandate of wearing a mask has been lifted here in Texas, we are still taking precautions and being responsible. We stay home when there is no important need to go out. School is strict on mask.

I just had my first and second doses of vaccine for Covid-19. The first one was administered in February and the second was administered this month. The second dose of the vaccine had a bad side effect on me. I was miserable for three days. I had joint pains, chills, nausea, and traveling headache. It was weird because the ache moved from one place in my head to another. My left arm was very sore that I couldn’t lift it at all. I didn’t have a nasal congestion or anything like that. Just the body soreness. I felt terrible.

But after all that, I was back to normal. Yes, I felt great. I was glad I took the opportunity to accept the school’s offer for a free vaccine via Allen Fire Department. It was provided by Moderna.

I hope you all are keeping yourselves healthy and safe. I cannot wait for this pandemic to be all over, you know?

Are We In Distance Learning For The Rest Of The School Year? ( Momimhar posted on April 9th, 2020 )

And just like that, we all are in Shelter-in-Place. Well, it wasn’t very clear to me what is Shelter-in-Place is according to the Collin County press conference a couple of weeks ago. After President Trump announced that the country is in the State of Emergency because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we started quarantining since we got back from our yearly Spring Break traveling the week of March 16.

Our school district announced an extended Spring Break week to help them plan. And by the end of the that week, an announcement from the district was sent over social media via emails stating that they are closing the schools for the health and safety of everyone. It was until April 3rd then school closure is currently moved to May 1st. It is still unclear if the school will reopen in May but I am expecting that we will be in Distance Learning for the rest of the school year.

This is the third week of our home schooling and we are doing great so far, I guess. How about you? How are you all doing in this distance learning thing?

Keep a Humidifier Handy In Your Home ( Momimhar posted on January 9th, 2017 )

It is always during the fall and winter seasons when allergies hit my household.  I know it is normal but I admit it is very irritable.  What should we do to reduce or perhaps prevent allergies and sickness from getting worse? Stock up allergy medicines in our medicine cabinets, exercise more weekly, eat more vegetables and fruits, drink lots of water daily, and get a lot of rest whenever there’s a chance.  These are very helpful.  But winter time is not very friendly when it comes to health issues.  This is the time we get struck with common respiratory sickness like cough and colds.

Air-conditioning sometimes doesn’t help on this depending on the level of humidity inside our homes.  I am glad that the use of a humidifier can help balance the humidity level in the house.  The very first humidifier my dear husband and I bought three years ago was an invisible mist humidifier.  A couple of things I didn’t like about that one were buying filters and loud sound in the room.

I am thankful that Influenster has given me the opportunity to try Vicks EasyFill Cool Mist Humidifier for free.  It was one of the amazing gifts I received in December 2016.  It came just in time because we needed a new humidifier in the house.  We haven’t had a cool mist humidifier before.

Humidifier Demineralization Cartridge (TWT500) to help prevent white dust.

Pros

Quiet operation

Easy Fill

Easy to clean

Lightweight

No filters needed

Requires demineralization cartridge (hard water)

Vapor pads slots

Cons

Bigger than the average-sized humidifiers

A little pricey

If you want a quiet humidifier and you don’t want to buy filters more often, I recommend Vicks EasyFill Cool Mist Humidifier.  As for me and my household, this device is very helpful.  I have a child who is very sensitive to low humidity so I say this product is a keeper.

I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing and review purposes.
