Hello! My mom and I are having breakfast at 10:30 A.M. My dad said that we will be back to being night owls because school is out. He is funny. 🙂
It’s the first weekend of summer break. My mom and I are going to visit her best friends in Fort Worth today. One of them, Tita N (tita is Tagalog word for aunt), is holding a birthday party for three of the lady friends at her house. We are spending the night at her house also. It would be fun because I really really would like to see the cats, Bambi and Brutus. It is going to be fun!
Okay, this is all for now. My mom said we are going to Dollar General to buy some drinks to bring to the party.
What a week. Since I started going back to work, as a substitute teacher at my daughter’s school, my house has become unorganized. I had two pending Balikbayan boxes which I just shipped out this Saturday. Then I have more stuff left for another box to be shipped out to my family in the Philippines before my nieces and nephews go back to school in June. School is out end of this month so they will be in summer vacation starting April 1st.
I started as a substitute teacher at K’s school February this year. I subbed in a few classes in Kindergarten, in First Grade, and in Fourth Grade. The recent sub position I took was for the Librarian Aide. So I worked at the library for three days. It was fun and a little busy because it was testing week at the school. The testing was conducted in the computer laboratory so the computer classes were joined other classes at library times.
Next week is Spring Break and I can’t wait for our trip to Beaver’s Bend State Park in Oklahoma. My darling daughter is excited as well. We’re going to explore the park again. Right now, I am finishing a few house chores and will go to the playground later.
Ming Ming. My parents’ cat.
This is Ming Ming. He is my parents’ pet cat. During our two-month long vacation in the Philippines, my darling daughter grew strong fondness with the cat. She loves him very much. Because cats have a different personality from dogs, my dear husband and I had to explain why K should not put her face way to close in front of a cat’s. Because of their strong defensive instincts, cats will slap with their sharp claws. This almost happened to K if she hasn’t moved back very quickly. Cats can be hasty, you know. Even so, we are very fond of Ming Ming. He is a very spoiled kitty. He’s like a person. He sleeps on my dad’s arm at bedtime.
Most domestic pets in the Philippines are not taken to animal doctors for regular check ups, grooming, and pet care. That is why they are prone to sickness and parasites. Ticks, fleas, bacteria, and digestive parasites are commonly acquired by these pets. That is why you have to always exercise caution not to get bitten or scratched. My parents also have dogs. They take their dogs to the vet to get their regular shots. And they are on a leash when they take them for a walk around the neighborhood. My parents, especially my dad, love their pets very much. K was so happy to know that grandpa and lola (Tagalog word for grandma) have dogs and a cat.
