Last weekend, my darling daughter was invited by one of her school mates to a swimming party in one of the community pools in our area. It seemed to me that it’s a summer kickoff since the school year is coming to a close soon. So I drove her there to meet with her friends and to have fun swimming. Sometime in May is when they start to open swimming pools and splash parks in Texas.

Next to the fenced swimming pool is a playground. When we arrived, the parking spots were already taken. I had to find a spot to park on the roadside. An empty spot was available in front of an SUV. I already drove a bit past that spot so I decided to do parallel parking. I imagined the end of the curb as another vehicle’s bumper. Remembering what I learned in parallel parking lesson from the driving school more than a decade ago, I went ahead and maneuvered my car to park. And what do you know, I still got it! I just did a tiny adjustment. It went great. 😀

My daughter was like, “You’re good, mom!” I was so proud of myself that day.
