Holiday Shopping Tips for the Babies in Your Life ( Momimhar posted on November 5th, 2018 )

If you are lucky enough to have one or more babies in your family right now, you may be thinking about what you will get them for the holidays. After all, the holiday shopping season is fast approaching, and many people like to get all of their shopping done as early as possible to save themselves money and stress. Babies are one of life’s greatest delights, but the truth is that they can be hard to shop for, especially when they are very young. If you’re not sure how to shop for the littlest ones in your life, here are a few tips to help you get started.

Baby K

The first thing to think about when you’re shopping for a holiday gift for a baby in your life is their parents. After all, the parents are the ones who will actually be opening the gift and they are the ones whose tastes really matter. If you want to be a hit with the parents, pick something for their baby that fits with their opinions and styles. For example, a Seahawks onesie would be perfect for sports fans from Seattle, or a little superhero shirt would be great for a fan of comic books.

Next, think about the baby and what he or she would enjoy. Of course, you can’t know any particular baby’s real tastes, and babies change every day, but use common sense to pick some appropriate. Don’t buy anything that a baby can’t safely play with, which means that it must be safe enough to put in their mouth. Choose something soft and snugly to make sure that a baby will want to hold it close and touch it often. Pick something bright and colorful to get his or her attention and delight.

Finally, don’t stress about it. The most important gift that you can give to any baby in your life is the gift of time. Take some time this holiday season to spend with all the little ones that you love.

Anxious To See New Photos Of Little Niece ( Momimhar posted on November 15th, 2013 )

Our little baby E is growing fast.  She’s 10 months now and is very adorable.  In two months she will be turning 1!  Oh how time flies! My family and I were on vacation back home when she was born and I was very happy I got to hold her when she was a newborn.  My whole family was so delighted to see and welcome the new bright big bundle of joy.

My sister-in-law gave birth to my niece in a birthing center in our town.  They paid about $80 for the midwife’s service.  She had a normal delivery and I don’t think she had a shot of anesthesia.  But she made it.  Her delivery was successful.

The recovery period for a normal delivery doesn’t take long.  It usually takes about a month or two then moms should feel well.  But moms have to be very careful in lifting things up.  She has to watch her work loads.  Over-fatigue and stress can lead to sickness.  Remember there’s a little one depending on you.  Request for help from friends and family when needed.  Same advice I told my sister-in-law because I know her better.

My little niece is so adorable that she is.  I bet she is keeping her mom busy.  Or maybe she is being high maintenance.  I don’t know.  Whichever it is, I miss her.  I can’t wait to see my new niece again…and everybody, of course.  I sent her DD’s infant clothes.  I asked my sister-in-law to send me new photos of our dear one.  So anxious to see them.

Saving Money on Kids Clothes – What Moms Need To Know ( Momimhar posted on October 16th, 2013 )

Saving money on kids clothes can be easy to do if you really know what you are doing. Every mom needs to know what she can do to save money on her kid’s clothes. Whether you need baby clothes, girls clothes or boys clothes there are certain things that you can do to save money on them.

Shop For Kids Clothes In Advance

Don’t wait until your kids need new clothes for the winter or summer to buy them. In the spring start purchasing clothes for next winter. Since stores are transitioning from winter clothes to clothes for warmer weather they will be lowering prices in order to get the winter clothes off the shelf so they have room for their new stock. The key to buying clothes ahead for kids is to buy one size bigger than whatever size they are currently wearing. At the end of summer and the beginning of fall is the time to purchase new bathing suits, summer dresses, shorts and tank tops for your kids for next season.

Acquire Hand Me Downs

If you know anyone who has children slightly older than yours, accept hand me downs from those parents. Just make sure that they do not want the hand me downs back after your kids have outgrown them or you will have to return them in the same condition they were given to you in. Otherwise, acquiring hand me down clothing is a great way to save money.

Frequent Consignment Shops

Consignment shops often carry kid’s clothing at a much cheaper price than department stores. And since consignment shops buy used clothes from their customers once your kids are done with the clothes you can try to sell them back to the shop. Consignment shops only accept clothing in good condition, so if you want to sell yours back try to keep them looking and smelling fresh and new.

Frequent Yard Sales

Shopping at yard sales can also help you purchase kid’s clothing for less. Even if you only shop yard sales for special occasion clothes you can still find some good deals. Many parents sell their little girls dresses when they outgrow them. This beats paying department store prices for clothing your kids will only wear occasionally.

Shopping Online

Shopping online provides you with an opportunity to find online coupon codes that you can use to save money on children’s clothing. Most of the time these online codes work on regularly priced merchandise as well as sale and clearance merchandise. Some of them even get you free shipping on large enough purchases. Subscribing to a site such as Groupons allows you to purchase coupons for both online and brick-and-mortar stores.

These are just a few of the things you can do in order to save money on your baby clothes, girls clothes and more. Saving money is important when you have kids to raise and shopping smart helps accomplish that task.
