Storytelling At The Public Library ( Momimhar posted on March 9th, 2012 )

I am glad that we are able to make it on time to the library this morning.  Though I did not get much sleep last night, waking up at nine o’clock this morning was an accomplishment.  My little princess wakes up between 9:30AM and 10:30AM.  And when I am up earlier, preparing her stuff for breakfast and lunch is my priority.

Driving to the library takes about fifteen minutes from our house.  But if I am behind a slow moving car, it takes more than that.  Gladly we arrived ten minutes early today.  We were able to get tickets because the Friday Story Time session for toddlers requires tickets before entering the room.  The Wednesday session doesn’t.  We couldn’t join the Story Time on Wednesdays because it begins at 9AM, which is VERY early for us.  So we stick to the 11:30AM storytelling on Fridays.

My daughter enjoys story time at the library.  Aside from story telling, the facilitators let the children participate in the fun and educational action songs during the session.  She dances, interact, and listens to the story.  Children educational programs like storytelling provided by the public library is very helpful because it initiates early learning.  Reading with your kids at least 20 minutes a day will help build a good reading habit.  Also it will encourage children to be interested in books and other good reading materials.

I appreciate the Smith Public Library for providing this helpful program not only for the children but also for the whole family.  Additionally, I thank my cousin for telling me about the Story Time.
