Baby Contest Part 2 ( Momimhar posted on September 19th, 2011 )

So I already finalized the picture that I want to submit as entry to the baby photo contest I mentioned here.  My husband took a couple of shots of me and baby.  After looking at each one, I have picked a very nice bonding picture.

The photo contest runs until the end of September.  There are two categories:  infant and toddler.  So if you are interested in joining, go to https://www.facebook.com/johnsonsbaby and like the page.  Be sure to read official contest rules before submitting a photo entry.

Best of luck!

How NMEDA Helps You Care For A Disabled Loved One ( Momimhar posted on September 19th, 2011 )

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of NMEDA for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I know that a person who is being a sole responsible with their family’s needs is not easy. A breadwinner and a caregiver at the same time is a big responsibility. If there is a family member who is disabled or an elderly whose mobility is limited, he or she needs a lot of help and understanding from the rest. Strong family ties really help in maintaining each family values. Lending a helping hand to a family in need does not only uplifts one’s moral values but also guides each other to help one another. We know that disabled people sometimes become unconfident and unpredictable especially if they cannot go to places that they want to enjoy. How will you manage to help so they can be mobile without too much of a hassle? The answer is NMEDA or National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association.

Other people may not know about NMEDA but let me explain what and how a NMEDA dealer can help the elderly or disabled get back onto the road of independence. It is a non-profit trade association; they educate consumers on buying products from a NMEDA qualified dealer. If you are looking for a mobility equipment, locate the NMEDA qualified dealers who sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people.

The first thing you need to know before buying a mobility equipment for your loved one is the national accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry. Here the Quality Assurance Program of NMEDA ensures that all handicap vehicles and equipment are nationally accredited. A qualified NMEDA dealer to assist you in giving the right modified vehicle and equipment. They will provide you full information on the proper operation of the vehicle or equipment.

This is the best thing you can do to provide your disabled loved one to gain his or her confidence and independence back. With this idea, caring for him/her would be easier for you too. I found a NMEDA qualified dealer close to where I live in Fort Worth. Find one near you by entering www.nmeda.org, hit the Locate A Dealer button and enter ZIP Code. Leave me a comment here letting me know your closest qualified dealer.

Birthday Greetings To My Brother-in-law ( Momimhar posted on September 19th, 2011 )

It was my brother-in-law’s birthday yesterday.  He is my younger sister’s husband and is working abroad.  It was great that my sister and her kids sent him a birthday greetings.  I thought it will make his day special.  Being miles away from home isn’t easy.  Homesickness is the enemy.  But with constant communication through online messages and phone calls, homesickness will go away.

But it is not also easy for my sister to send emails.  She doesn’t have a computer at home.  Neither does my parents.  So only does phone calls or send text messages to her husband abroad.  Catching an internet signal in our area in our hometown is quite difficult.
