Elementary Field Day Filled With Physical Activities and Water Fun ( Momimhar posted on May 26th, 2017 )

Tug-of-war

K’s school had it’s yearly Field Day this morning.  All elementary students were geared up and excited for this amazing day to show their physical capabilities on fun games and to enhance their social development and sportsmanship.

The event was held at the high school athletic facility.  Students, together with their respective teachers, facilitating staff, and attending parents gathered at the athletic field for a great day of fun.

The activities/sports were facilitated according to stations. Each station had at least three assigned coordinator so the children were well-guided at these games: Bouncy Ball Race, Sponge Water Splash, Relay Race, Soccer game, and the classic game of Tug-O-War.

K enjoyed the bouncy ball race and the sponge water splash most. She didn’t get the chance to guard the goal and got to kick the ball only once at the soccer game. But she had fun playing. That’s the most important part of the Field Day. Having fun.  Then we had a picnic lunch under the bleachers because it’s shady and the wind was very refreshing.  Then we had Kona Ice after lunch. Yay!

Kona Ice. Yay!

The school was prompt sending announcements about this special event. We were well-prepared for the Field Day. It’s a hot cloudy day and the wind was blowing pretty hard. We brought:

  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • Extra clothes
  • Towel
  • Food

Another memorable and fantastic day today. 🙂

Friends And Moms Get-Together Picnic ( Momimhar posted on June 1st, 2013 )

Again, my girl friends and I had a Moms Picnic and get-together at the park this afternoon.  It was a Hawaiian Theme picnic we dressed up in a flowery and colorful outfit.  It was my first time to be in this park although it’s only 15 minutes drive from my house.  There is a splash area for kids to play and get wet on.  There is also a small pond a little bit down hill so feeding ducks is possible.  Bike trails are also available for those who enjoy biking in the area.  My friend also said that several concerts are held in the park occasionally.

I got there a little late because I almost forgot about food that I have to bring and share with everybody.  I baked chicken breast with mixed vegetables in garlic herb mix.  I did not bring DD with me because she was already napping when I was getting ready.

As usual,  when mommies get together, there are lots of food to eat.  After the early dinner, we started a few games for the kids and us, too.  It was really fun because after the young ones splashed and ran their bikes, they got to play the games first.

It was a wonderful picnic day at Harry Myers Park in Rockwall.  And a wonderful time together with friends and other moms.
