It’s Officially Summer Break 2026 ( Momimhar posted on May 29th, 2026 )

School’s out. It’s the last day of school for my freshman today. It’s seems like I just posted an entry of her First Day of Freshman yesterday. Oh how time flies so fast! My darling daughter is now heading to her sophomore year.

I can say she had a wonderful freshman year. She had great teachers and coaches who helped her excel in academics and enhance her skills in the sports she decided to participate in.

Cheer

Darling daughter was in the Freshman Team, UIL Cheer Competition Team, and Pep Squad. The team was on the Top 20 in the State (UIL Spirit State Championships 2026). At the cheer banquet held a month ago, she received the Best Jump Award.

Track and Field

She tried out and made the JV Relay Team and she was also in 200m sprint. The team won gold and silver in three track meets and placed Runner-Up at the district meet.

First year of high school was a bit challenging academic wise but my darling daughter successfully navigated it with great motivation and confidence. So proud of our student-athlete. Now on to sophomore (second) year! But first, summer fun!!!

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER EVERYONE!

Parallel Parking ( Momimhar posted on May 21st, 2026 )

Last weekend, my darling daughter was invited by one of her school mates to a swimming party in one of the community pools in our area. It seemed to me that it’s a summer kickoff since the school year is coming to a close soon. So I drove her there to meet with her friends and to have fun swimming. Sometime in May is when they start to open swimming pools and splash parks in Texas.

Next to the fenced swimming pool is a playground. When we arrived, the parking spots were already taken. I had to find a spot to park on the roadside. An empty spot was available in front of an SUV. I already drove a bit past that spot so I decided to do parallel parking. I imagined the end of the curb as another vehicle’s bumper. Remembering what I learned in parallel parking lesson from the driving school more than a decade ago, I went ahead and maneuvered my car to park. And what do you know, I still got it! I just did a tiny adjustment. It went great. 😀

My daughter was like, “You’re good, mom!” I was so proud of myself that day.

Summer Break Is Almost Here ( Momimhar posted on May 8th, 2026 )

Happy month of May everyone! We’re almost getting close to mid-year already. Are you excited for summer break? I am. Although there are lots of summer activities booked on our calendar, I am still excited. I can sleep late and relax whenever I want. My dear husband’s company is currently transitioning so he’s also busy with work. His tasks are quite doubled these couple of months. He said they will be slowing down around August. He can’t take off days in the summer so we can only have stay-cation this summer. But, he allowed me and darling daughter to go out-of-state with my mom friends in July. So happy about that.

Darling daughter’s summer calendar is filled with a few practices and sports camps-cheer and tennis. Yes, she wants to try to play tennis next school year. I can only find a tennis camp for her to learn the basics and discipline of the sport.

With all these activities, we’re going to enjoy our summer break as usual. Nothing is worthwhile than the moments spent with family and friends making precious memories to treasure in this busy mom life.
