Celebrating The Graduates ( Momimhar posted on March 29th, 2015 )

My family back home in the Philippines is celebrating our graduates and achievers today.  Friday was the graduation day.  My niece finished high school and will be entering college this coming June.  My nephew graduated in elementary.  Both of them were awarded Most Behave in their respective classes.  My other nephew was the Best Achiever in his 1st grade class, too.  This celebration also includes my baby sister’s graduation in college and being a licensed nurse.  I mentioned before that she passed the National Licensure Examination for Nursing early this year.

So everybody’s at a resort right now.  The kids had been looking forward to this day to come – to be able to go to the pool and swim.  I am very thankful that we were able to grant their requests.  And I am very happy to know how happy they are right now.  I know the feeling of great happiness when something that you had been wishing for for quite sometime is granted.

It is summer vacation now in the Philippines.  I wish the kids a wonderful summer vacation.  I want them to enjoy their time with the family and enjoy their childhood like I did when I was their age.

Congratulations to all the graduates, honors, and achievers.

Daily Sweetener That’s Healthy For You ( Momimhar posted on March 18th, 2015 )

As a full-time mom and housewife, life is sometimes difficult for me especially when I don’t get all my house chores done.  There are times when  I get to do something today but will get left behind because something very important comes up.  And so, I end up in a back log at times.

But there are moments when I feel very at ease.  Thanks to my loving husband for always being there to help me especially in the kitchen.  I don’t cook that much at all.  My husband does most of the cooking for us.  He doesn’t care for Filipino foods that much.  Here is more into Tex-Mex foods.

Anyway, whenever I am feeling overwhelmed I just get me a cup of coffee and tsweetleafake a few minutes of relaxation in the living room while watching my favorite cooking show.  I don’t need to put a lot of sugar in my coffee because we have SweetLeaf Organic Stevia Sweetener.

I am very delighted to be invited by Moms Meet to try SweetLeaf Organic Stevia Sweetener and get the chance to review it here.  All my life I have been using plain sugar in all my sweet treats especially on my coffee or milk.  This time, I am trying this sweetener.

On the other hand, I would like to use some of these on baked goods.  I am planning to do it in a few days.  I will definitely post my creation here on Mommy’s Bright Bundles. 🙂

Me In My High School Uniform #TBT ( Momimhar posted on March 12th, 2015 )

My high school photo with batch mates.

My high school photo (that’s me no socks on) with batch mates.

I am feeling nostalgic these past few days.  After 21 years, my class in senior high school is planning to hold a reunion for the batch 1994 this coming May.  As a salutatorian, I should be attending the reunion.  But, unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this special event.  Sad, I know.

As I was talking with my former classmates, memories of my high school life were popping up in my head. I can say that high school life was the best part of my teenage life.  In the photo shows my batch mates.  Two of them are my neighbors – the girl beside me and the one on the far left.

Behind us is the elementary school and to our left are the junior, senior, and high school administration buildings.  The middle school buildings are located on top of the hill.  My neighborhood is located over the hill so when we go to and from school, we sometimes bypass the main road and take the short cut which is the going up and down the hill.  Going to school was fun because every students in my neighborhood walk to school almost at the same time 6 o’clock in the morning.  Flag ceremony is at 6:30 and classes start at 7. Then we go home for lunch at 12 noon, come back for classes at 1:00 P.M.  Then classes dismiss for the day at 5:30 in the evening.

Winter And Cold Weather Essentials ( Momimhar posted on March 6th, 2015 )

snow

Snow on the porch and backyard.

I was the one who got excited about this snow storm that went on overnight last night.  I didn’t get to sleep until around three o’clock in the morning.  Isn’t that crazy? 🙂 Once in a while I opened the window blinds and looked outside to see how big the snow fall was and how much snow we’re getting. I also was glad I had contacted Style by Carden Exteriors Inc to keep my roof in tip top shape and I knew if the snow had damaged my house they had great storm damage defense to keep my home safe and secure.  In short, I was super excited that it was snowing. 🙂

When I woke up this morning, I quickly looked out the window and saw so much snow on the porch and backyard.  My dear husband already left for work when I got up.  He borrowed my car today because it has better front brakes.  It was so bright and quiet outside.  As usual, my darling daughter didn’t wake up until around eleven o’clock in the morning.

Here’s our snow girl. She’s bigger this time. 🙂

As soon as we finished eating brunch (breakfast/lunch meal), my daughter and I put on our winter coats and boots.  In cold weather like this, it is highly recommended to wear think winter clothing, cold weather accessories, and footwear like snow boots if you want to stay outdoors for an hour or so.  You would want to feel warm and comfortable while playing in the snow so you have to bundle up.

Winter Clothes

  • coats
  • heavy jackets
  • sweatshirts
  • leggings
  • thermal pants
  • sweatpants

Cold weather accessories

  • scarves
  • head band
  • leg warmers
  • thick socks
  • gloves
  • winter boots
  • snow boots

Winter storm in Texas 3-05-15

My daughter and I built a snowman.  Actually, she wanted to call it a snowgirl.  This time it’s a bigger one.  It was a wonderful time playing in the snow.  We got about 4 inches.  That’s a lot.

Winter storm 3-06-08

This last photo was taken a day over seven years ago.  It was two weeks after my arrival here in the US and it snowed in Texas.  That was my very first snow experience.  Yesterday’s snow storm was a day early seven years ago.  🙂
