Graduation Gifts And Belated Christmas Presents ( Momimhar posted on June 30th, 2014 )

My youngest sister's graduation in college.

My youngest sister’s graduation in college.

Congratulations to my youngest sister.  She graduated from college a couple of months ago.  Graduating from college is the biggest accomplishment for my sister so far.  It’s unbelievable how the years flew by so fast.  Seemed like she just enrolled in first year college last year.  Now she already have her diploma in Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  We are very proud of my sister D.

Few weeks after her graduation day, the packages I shipped has been delivered at my parents’.  Inside the packages were Christmas presents, clothing, kids’ shoes, body and bath essentials, personal care items, and graduation gifts (for my sister).  My niece and nephews were anxiously waiting for them to arrive.  I was glad that the packages were delivered without issues.

On the other hand, my sister sent me a text message letting me know that they already got the presents and stuff and she thanked me for the cute  maxi dress we gave her.  It’s one of the graduation gifts we sent her.  To match the dress, she also received a pair of sandals.

My sister was very happy with her presents.  My niece and nephews were too.  They got to open their belated Christmas presents in June.  🙂

Fever And Sore Throat ( Momimhar posted on June 23rd, 2014 )

It’s always a wonderful week for us.  Last week my mother-in-law came over for a visit for two days.  Then she went to see her other son and daughter-in-law after spending a couple of days with us.  Gladly my darling daughter was feeling well already.  She got sick-had sore throat and ran a fever two weeks ago.

It started Saturday morning.  I usually fall asleep with her in her bedroom.  That morning when I wrapped my arm around DD she was very hot.  Her temperature was very high.  So I took the thermometer and checked her temperature.  Sure she’s running a fever.  When she finally woke up, she was irritable, fussy, and complaining about her throat.  I gave her something to eat and drink for breakfast but she didn’t eat much.  She was only sipping the milk.  DD was complaining that she’s having a headache.  I gave her fever reducer and pain reliever medicine once every six hours for two days.  The medicine helped her feel better.  The fever is gone in two days.

I was very worried because she wasn’t eating very well.  So I checked her mouth and saw some irritation in her throat.  Immediately, first thing in the morning, I called her pediatrician for an appointment on Monday afternoon.  Then we saw DD’s pediatrician Monday afternoon.  The doctor said that the irritation/redness in the throat was caused by a virus.  Oh dear!  Where did DD got that?  The pedia said it’s in the air and can be from someone in public places like play areas.  The pediatrician gave me an instruction on how to treat DD’s irritated throat.  After a week, it became better and better.

I am very thankful and happy that DD is well now.  Her appetite is back and very playful.  Gladly we were able to go see Na-na, uncle G, and aunt D for a swimming party this weekend.

Summertime, Pool Time ( Momimhar posted on June 21st, 2014 )

What a great day to start the first day of summer.  My brother-in-law and his wife invited us last week for a swimming party this afternoon.  My little one was very excited to know that she will go swimming again at Uncle G’s neighborhood pool. Nana hasn’t gone home yet and she went with us to the pool.  After she came over at our house for a visit, she went ahead and visit her son and daughter-in-law, too.

We all went to the play park first to let darling daughter play for a little while before going to the pool.  DD had fun climbing up the bars to the big slide.  She and uncle Gerald were buddies at the playground.  It was an overcast day and quite breezy and humid.  This kind of weather seemed to be the most critical in getting a sunburn.  So we put on enough sunscreen on DD and on us too.  Sunscreen is very important to carry wherever we go because the heat of the sun in the summer days is intense.  Especially when we are at the beach, swimming pools, or splash parks.  I always remind DD not to forget to put on sunscreen.  She actually knows where we keep the sun-protection product in the house.

It is always great to have family get-together once in a while.  It doesn’t have to be extravagant.  A simple party is more fun especially in summer.  Swimming party is also a good idea.

We all had our swimwear on and when we arrived at the pool, darling daughter couldn’t wait to get into the water.  She didn’t like wearing the float at first.  With pure patience and lots motivation from uncle G and daddy, she eventually wore the floats and swim vest.  She realized that she can have more fun with floats on because she wasn’t sinking.  At the pool it is always recommended to put floaties on small children especially on toddlers.

When DD had her floaties on, she and uncle G got into the water.  Daddy got into the pool second.  I was very anxious to get in the pool.  So I jumped into the water to be able to, at least, resist the coldness.  🙂  After a little while, the water felt so good.  We swam and played in the pool for a couple of hours or so until it was time for dinner.
