There are few party invitations sent to us this month. And one them is my friend and kababayan’s party for her daughter’s 2nd birthday. (Kababayan means countryman in English). The party was held at her house. She organized and prepared for the special occasion. I thought she hired a caterer but she made all the food on the table. They were all delicious! And she made my all-time favorite Filipino dish, Kare-Kare – it’s a peanut-based stew paired with sweet and spicy shrimp paste. Yum!
The family had a number of guests who attended the party. The birthday celebrant was sleeping when we arrived. Well, of course, I bet it’s her nap time. Gladly she woke up when it was time to sing the “Happy Birthday” song and blowing of the candles.
There was a bounce house placed in the front yard of my friend’s house. The humidity was quite high that day so I did not let my darling daughter to play in it. It was hot humid day. My daughter had fun at the party. She likes making friends and playing, of course. Being with other kids help my child to become confident and independent. Socials skills is getting better. The difficult part for her is saying goodbye. My daughter didn’t want to leave because she play with the other kids some more. I talked to her sincerely about why we needed to leave. I am glad that she listened and understood. She’s really a good girl.
It was another successful party, as usual. The kids enjoyed the company, cakes, and favors or goodies.
