Much-Needed Heated Socks This Winter Season ( Momimhar posted on January 31st, 2020 )

Brace yourselves it’s winter time again. Snow storms, blizzard, freezing rain, icy roads…you name it. It is super cold. The winter weather is unpredictable at times. Laziness gets in the way because we know it is sometimes impossible to go out and run errands when it is freezing cold outside. We also think of comfort foods this cold season. We make all kinds of homemade soup and hot meals for our family to keep us warm.

Speaking of comfort and warm, what else can we think of to keep us warm in this wintry weather? Of course, we thought of winter clothing like coats, jackets, hoodies, thermals, and accessories (scarves, beanies, and winter socks). Wearing warm winter clothes helps keep our body warm in the winter. Though our homes are well-insulated and the heaters provide the heat we need, wearing weather appropriate clothing like thermal clothes and heated socks provides comfort in the wintertime. I mostly wear jackets and fleece pants everyday. Also, wearing winter socks around the house keeps me warm because I don’t like my feet feeling cold at all.

Staying home most of the time in the winter is boring, I know. I am also an outdoor person but in this cold weather, my motivation to do fun stuff outdoors is very low. But we need to be active to stay healthy and the freezing weather cannot stop some of us who like to have fun outdoors. Snow sledding, skiing, tubing, and riding snow mobiles are fun. To keep us from frost bites and hypothermia, winter gears and accessories are to the rescue. Cozy Winters electric socks can be worn especially when skiing, sledding, or ice tubing. These will help prevent our toes from feeling frozen in freezing temperatures. I remember one winter day years ago when I just walked outside in the snow wearing regular socks in my winter boots. My toes were numb and hurting after a few minutes of playing in the snow. I learned my lesson. I had heated socks since then.

I love winter season but not quite the freezing weather. Thanks to the warm winter products because these make our lives convenient and comfortable. Cozy Winters have them all.

Winter In Texas – Snow Today ( Momimhar posted on January 6th, 2017 )

Collecting snow for a snowball.

We got a bit of snow this afternoon around 1:00 P.M. here in North Texas.  My darling daughter kept telling me since this Tuesday about the possibility of snow because her teacher said so.  I checked the weather forecast and it was clear all week and the freezing days are Thursday to Saturday.  I found no chance of  snow or rain whatsoever.

We lit up the fireplace yesterday because it’s freezing.

But when I was entering Walmart store to buy a pair of mittens for K close to one o’clock this afternoon, I saw flurries falling from the sky.  I thought it won’t last long.  As soon as I got home, the flurries turned into snow.  So when my darling daughter arrived from school,  we put on our winter coats, winter boots, and mittens then went outside and play in the snow.

Snow covering the weeds in the flower beds.

The water in the bird bath got frozen.

Throwing snow at me. 🙂

You know children are naturally curious individuals.  They always check on little things wherever they go, and whatever they do they will always ask  questions.  And we should be keen and ready to answer their inquiries.  One of the things that amazes them is snow.  What is snow made of? Why does it snow?  We know that snow is composed of snowflakes.  So K was checking the snow and saw snowflakes formation.  She said to me,

“Mommy, snowflakes have different shapes right?

“Yes,” I said.

Naturally formed snowflakes differ from one another through happenstance of formation. (Wikipedia.org)

She found two and pointed at them so I can see.  I won’t even see them immediately, those tiny little snowflakes on the plastic chair. 🙂

Two tiny snowflakes. K’s pointing at one of them.

We had fun playing in the snow.  K’s most favorite thing was when she found two beautiful snowflakes.

Winter And Cold Weather Essentials ( Momimhar posted on March 6th, 2015 )

snow

Snow on the porch and backyard.

I was the one who got excited about this snow storm that went on overnight last night.  I didn’t get to sleep until around three o’clock in the morning.  Isn’t that crazy? 🙂 Once in a while I opened the window blinds and looked outside to see how big the snow fall was and how much snow we’re getting. I also was glad I had contacted Style by Carden Exteriors Inc to keep my roof in tip top shape and I knew if the snow had damaged my house they had great storm damage defense to keep my home safe and secure.  In short, I was super excited that it was snowing. 🙂

When I woke up this morning, I quickly looked out the window and saw so much snow on the porch and backyard.  My dear husband already left for work when I got up.  He borrowed my car today because it has better front brakes.  It was so bright and quiet outside.  As usual, my darling daughter didn’t wake up until around eleven o’clock in the morning.

Here’s our snow girl. She’s bigger this time. 🙂

As soon as we finished eating brunch (breakfast/lunch meal), my daughter and I put on our winter coats and boots.  In cold weather like this, it is highly recommended to wear think winter clothing, cold weather accessories, and footwear like snow boots if you want to stay outdoors for an hour or so.  You would want to feel warm and comfortable while playing in the snow so you have to bundle up.

Winter storm in Texas 3-05-15

My daughter and I built a snowman.  Actually, she wanted to call it a snowgirl.  This time it’s a bigger one.  It was a wonderful time playing in the snow.  We got about 4 inches.  That’s a lot.

This last photo was taken a day over seven years ago.  It was two weeks after my arrival here in the US and it snowed in Texas.  That was my very first snow experience.  Yesterday’s snow storm was a day early seven years ago.  🙂
