It is another birthday celebration this month. It’s Mom’s birthday. Since we didn’t come over last weekend, K and I drove this afternoon to Tyler to visit our beloved folks. And also to be with the family since K and I will be traveling and will be gone for eight weeks for our vacation. We had a pretty nice plan during our visit and birthday celebration. First was watching Zootopia with Mom and a cousin JA. He’s already on Spring break. K was looking forward to this movie since it’s first trailer show when we saw the Inside Out movie last year. Cousin SR had gone to Dallas with her mom and dad, cousin P was in school, and Paw-Paw was busy installing the new microwave oven he bought from Lowe’s, so only the four of us went to watch the animated movie from Disney.
We watched the Zootopia movie at Studio Movie Grill. It’s one of those cinema chain where you can dine inside the theater. We ordered popcorn and a few drinks for us. To me, I rate the service 3 out of 5 stars. Because it took a while before our orders served. Well, I understand the busy work because there were so many viewers in the theater. But you have to really watch it when you order drinks especially for your kids. I ordered Strawberry Icee. I did repeat the order more than twice to the server. When it was served, it tasted different. I am pretty sure it was not Strawberry Icee. I don’t know if there was a mess up with the orders or what, but I am pretty sure that the drink they served wasn’t the one I ordered. So Mom complained about it. They took off that particular drink from the bill. I suggest that you should take the first sip of your kids’ drinks when you’re at the movies. It’s dark in the theater you know.
Anyway, my daughter liked the movie. It was funny and thrilling. My favorite funny part was when Officer Hopps and Nick went to the DMV where sloths are the employees. You have to see the movie to find out why. 🙂 Okay, second in the plan was to let K play with her cousins. That’s always in my agenda whenever we come visit. Lastly, was to spend the night so we have more time with Mom and Dad. K loves being with her grandparents.
Bad weather started coming this morning – thunderstorms, heavy rains, and strong winds. There’s a Flood Warning everywhere until Friday. It was raining hard when we got out of the cinema. It’s getting nasty so we will just go home tomorrow.
It was a very fun evening I had few weeks ago. My best friend NJ and I had a double birthday celebration at her house in Forth Worth. I am still cannot find the words how enchanted I was of how beautifully the party was planned and put together very successfully. We both had not idea how the party would be like because there was no tiny hint. Not one little bit. Our dear friends were very good in hiding clues. Would you believe that they did a Casino Themed Birthday Party? NJ and I like going to the casinos. 😀 We don’t do it very often but we enjoy going.
NJ and me. Birthday banner.
Anyway, it’s my 40th birthday and I can say that this was it was a big celebration to date. NJ is in her late 20s already. The last time we celebrated our birthday together was in 2009 when we were neighbors in Fort Worth. We went Downtown and had fun at the disco and karaoke at City Streets (now closed). Those were good times, I tell ya.
Lots of food. Yum.
The party that night was a blast. The decorations were amazing and the food was abundant. Thanks to the guests who brought delicious American and Filipino foods. In addition, NJ’s hubby and friends had set up a red carpet and casino. NJ and I had a wonderful night on our birthday party. They were very thoughtful with donating to my feeding program next month. NJ, her sister, my daughter, and I are flying together to the Philippines for a vacation this month. And one of the things in my agenda was having a small Thanksgiving feast for the children in my neighborhood. I am excited about it. It won’t be long and we will be in the Philippines.
Our birthday cake.
My best friend NJ and me. I love you dear.
There’s a lot of stuff went on at the party that evening – karaoke, disco, and games. Oh how fun. Thanks to our wonderful friends who made our birthday party celebration very successful and amazing.
New playground equipment.
We cannot wait for this new playground equipment to be installed completely at the Olde City Park in Wylie. It is about time to have the old ones replaced since they were old and damaged already. They were putting more slides, I can see. Spring is just around the corner and hopefully the play park will reopen very soon.
I am looking forward to this year’s social events in the town. One of my favorite event is the City Night Out. There are so many vendors and fun stuff for the kids. Also, the fireworks display is awesome.
We did so much fun stuff last year. We went on a vacation in the summer and attended kids’ activity parties during the Holidays. It was indeed another wonderful year and my family and I were very grateful for everything.
We went back to San Antonio last summer with our darling daughter. It was 6 years since we were there. We stayed in La Quinta Inns & Suites-Riverwalk. I don’t know but my daughter likes La Quinta. Though it was a very busy vacation, we had so much fun because we went to Sea World San Antonio. It was my darling daughter’s first experience at Sea World. She got to see the Shamu Show, Clyde and Seymour High Show, and got on some rides including the thrilling Journey to Atlantis. That was her favorite ride she said. Gladly it was mostly cloudy the day we went to Sea World. The weather was just perfect for lots of walking in the park. Still, we brought our sunscreen, towels, and three bottled water for us to drink.
The day before Sea World fun, we strolled by the Riverwalk and had dinner at Guadalajara Grill. My favorite meal there was the Molcajete. Then after a fun day at Sea World, we just enjoyed sightseeing by the Riverwalk around lunch time. We got on a boat that tours around. Interesting history and facts while boating. Then we explored the Market Square in the afternoon. My darling daughter got the chance to ride the mechanical bull. She had so much fun. We saw a lot of colorful clothing, souvenir items, home decor, and entertainment (singing) in the square. At check out day, we went up to the Tower of the Americas located at the HemisFair Park. It was very interesting and amazing experience to go up to the tower and read some stuff about Texas history. DD and dear husband looked through telescope a few times and walked around while I was reading stuff.
Three days and two nights in San Antonio, Texas were worth it. Leaving San Antonio, we were headed to New Braunfels for some swim and splash at #Schlitterbahn. It’ll be in my next post. 🙂

Happy New Year 2016! Would you believe it? We are in the year 2016. Oh my! How was your Holidays? Did you have all the fun in the world? We did. My family and I spent Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day with my husband’s family in Tyler. We had a wonderful time especially that his nephew, who is in the Navy, came home for Christmas. Everyone was happy to see him most especially his parents.
The kids enjoyed lighting the sparklers.
On New Year’s Eve, we stayed home because we want to be home when the new year comes. As usual, we shoot fireworks. That was the most fun part of celebrating the New Year’s. In addition, we invited my hubby’s brother together with his wife. Dear hubby also invited some of his colleagues. It was nice that they came and celebrated with us on New Year’s Eve.
It was a very big celebration on New Year’s Eve. Maybe you have heard in the news that North Dallas was hit by a few tornadoes on Saturday, December 26, 2015. Let me tell ya, our neighborhood was half mile away from Downtown Copeville where a tornado touchdown and demolished a bunch of homes and a gas station. The strong tornado just passed by us, shook our house but didn’t do any major damage. Just a few shingles on the roof flipped over that’s it. Were very lucky. I saw how big the hurricane was and how it sounded like. I will never forget it in my life.
New Year, new life. We celebrated all the blessings in 2015 and all the luck in the world. I am hoping that no more calamities and bad things. May God bless us all.
