Summer Is Not Over Yet ( Momimhar posted on October 11th, 2015 )

Beautiful day to be out in the backyard playing in the pool.

Beautiful day to be out in the backyard playing in the pool.

Although October is here but it’s a hot weekend here in Texas.  Summer is not over yet for us here.  That’s good I guess because my darling daughter enjoys the outdoors so much.  One weekend she asked me if she can play in her pool in the backyard.  Of course, she had to bring all her bath toys out with her.  🙂 After I filled up the pink pool I bought from Walmart for $8.00 last year, I sprayed some sunscreen all over DD.  I used Banana Boat Baby Sunscreen Spray on her because it’s non-sticky and non-greasy.

And just look at that little girl.  She asked for her Scoobydoo umbrella after a while. Ah, toddlers.  😀

Winter And Cold Weather Essentials ( Momimhar posted on March 6th, 2015 )

Snow on the porch and backyard.

I was the one who got excited about this snow storm that went on overnight last night.  I didn’t get to sleep until around three o’clock in the morning.  Isn’t that crazy? 🙂 Once in a while I opened the window blinds and looked outside to see how big the snow fall was and how much snow we’re getting. I also was glad I had contacted Style by Carden Exteriors Inc to keep my roof in tip top shape and I knew if the snow had damaged my house they had great storm damage defense to keep my home safe and secure.  In short, I was super excited that it was snowing. 🙂

When I woke up this morning, I quickly looked out the window and saw so much snow on the porch and backyard.  My dear husband already left for work when I got up.  He borrowed my car today because it has better front brakes.  It was so bright and quiet outside.  As usual, my darling daughter didn’t wake up until around eleven o’clock in the morning.

Here’s our snow girl. She’s bigger this time. 🙂

As soon as we finished eating brunch (breakfast/lunch meal), my daughter and I put on our winter coats and boots.  In cold weather like this, it is highly recommended to wear think winter clothing, cold weather accessories, and footwear like snow boots if you want to stay outdoors for an hour or so.  You would want to feel warm and comfortable while playing in the snow so you have to bundle up.

Winter storm in Texas 3-05-15

My daughter and I built a snowman.  Actually, she wanted to call it a snowgirl.  This time it’s a bigger one.  It was a wonderful time playing in the snow.  We got about 4 inches.  That’s a lot.

This last photo was taken a day over seven years ago.  It was two weeks after my arrival here in the US and it snowed in Texas.  That was my very first snow experience.  Yesterday’s snow storm was a day early seven years ago.  🙂

Nice Day To Fly A Kite ( Momimhar posted on September 10th, 2014 )

K catching the tails of the kite.

K catching the tails of the kite.

It’s a windy day today.  Nice day to fly a kite.  So after my darling daughter rode her trike and bike, we flew her kite.  She got to fly the kite first but the wind just blew it away to the bushes in our front yard.  So she let me do it.  I was flying the kite under the shade of our tree.  Then she said she’ll catch the tails of the kite.  We had so much fun.  K laughs and giggles every time she catches the tails and the kite itself.

It is close to 100 F outside but the strong breeze helps beat the heat a little bit.

Outdoor Activities That Your Toddlers May Enjoy ( Momimhar posted on March 10th, 2014 )

Climbing on the tree. :)

Climbing on the tree. 🙂

Winter season is not that much fun for us especially for my toddler because we cannot go outside to play.  We cannot play at the playground either because of the very cold weather.  I only take her to the play area in the mall once a week to have some play time and social interaction with other kids.  But if the day is clear and sunny, boy we surely have lots of fun.

When the weather gets pleasant and the temperature a little warm for us to go outside the house, we play outdoors as much as we can.  My little girl enjoys it very much.  Some of the games and activities we play outdoors are:

  • Tag –  This is her favorite game because she can run and run.
  • Hide and Seek – After playing tag, she wanted to play hide and seek.  She giggles so much when I find her.
  • Chalk Drawing (on the driveway) – I bought a box of chalk with different colors and my daughter likes drawing on the driveway.

  • Driveway Hopscotch – After chalk drawing we play driveway hopscotch.  But my darling daughter will scribble and draw inside the hopscotch after a while.
  • Jumping in puddles – We only do this outside on the driveway when the weather is really nice and warm.
  • Treasure Hunt (in the front yard) – My little girl and I just look for some things like leaves, nice stones, dandelions, etc. as we were hunting for treasures.  She really enjoys that.
  • Strolling (around the neighborhood) – DD loves riding her little tricycle.  And we go for a stroll around the neighborhood.  The only issue is that, I have to carry the tricycle halfway because she doesn’t want to ride anymore.

With these outdoor activities, my toddler learns how the things around her works.  She can decide and plan on what’s next.  Of course, I am always in supervision.  And safety when we are outdoors is my priority.

How about you?  What are your kids’ favorite outdoor games/activities?  The above mentioned might be enjoyable for your toddlers, too.
