Find Fun Free Story Books For Your Kids On Amazon For Kindle Fire ( Momimhar posted on September 24th, 2015 )

While I am tapping the keyboard of my laptop doing some online duties such as browsing mom blog pages, Pinterest boards, and Instagram photos, my daughter was just sitting on the couch playing with her learning game apps on her new Amazon Kindle Fire.  I bought the gadget few months ago in replacement to the previous tab that was broken within a month of purchase when she accidentally dropped it on the floor.  The screen cracked and there’s now way I can fix it without paying over $80 for screen replacement.  So I decided to buy a new one.

My friend recommended the Amazon Kindle Fire.  But she said I have to buy one with the 8 gigabytes of storage because the basic applications and software alone consumes the half of it.  I am happy that my darling daughter is enjoying her new gadget.  The gadget is solid and durable.  Once you get familiar with the settings and navigation, it’s easy to manipulate.

My darling daughter only uses it whenever she is relaxing after dinner and, sometimes but not frequently, before bedtime.  During the day, I only let her use it for an hour because she has other activities to do like working on her pre-K (pre-Kindergarten) activity book, playing outside, biking, and going to town with me on errands days.  There isn’t much applications in the Kindle Fire besides a few toddler game apps.

Right now, she is reading – yes my daughter is a beginner reader already – a book from Children’s Beginner Readers Kindle Edition.

Below are the story books I downloaded to her Kindle Fire.  They’re free on Amazon.

Age Appropriate Jobs – Let Your Toddlers Help By Doing Simple Household Chores ( Momimhar posted on June 22nd, 2015 )

While I was doing the laundry last night, my darling daughter K was helping me load the dirty clothes in the washer.  “Mommy, I want to help you,” she said.  So  I let her pour the laundry detergent into the washer and the fabric softener in the dispenser.  K wanted to put the wet clothes in the dryer so I let her put the small ones in there, too.  She wanted to do the controls so I guided her through the control buttons on the dryer.  She was very happy that she did all that.  She said, “I’m a grown up girl now, mommy.” K’s so proud of herself.

This is to share with y’all that toddlers can be a great help in your household.  With proper guidance and supervision, your toddlers can do the job you assigned to them without a hassle.  Though your work sometimes gets more complicated, yet teaching them the concept of responsibility is great help to them especially if they are very willing to learn.  In the long run, they will offer help to you.  Do not refuse.  You are also helping your toddlers gain their self-esteem and self-worth.

But don’t overdo it. Don’t let your toddlers do the hard work.  What I mean is that, let your kids do the age appropriate household chores.  A guideline of age appropriate household jobs for kids are listed at http://www.freeprintablebehaviorcharts.com/chore_list.htm.

We don’t have to expect that they work has to be perfect.  Remember we are guiding them and supervising them, too.  Praising our little ones for helping us makes them proud.  “Well done, honey.  Thank you for helping,” makes their day.

Tips To Get Rid Of Common Colds ( Momimhar posted on June 4th, 2015 )

Orange juice is rich in Vitamin C.

Orange juice is rich in Vitamin C.

My darling daughter K has the sniffles.  She actually ran a fever last Friday evening that made us miss the Bible Study.  The fever quickly occurred.  She was sneezing and feeling tired Friday afternoon and that night her body temperature rose suddenly.  I didn’t sleep very well because I was monitoring her temperature.  Gladly there’s a fever and pain reliever in our cabinet.  There was a birthday invitation the next day but we didn’t go because DD was not feeling well.

On Sunday, K was feeling a little lively so we were able to attend another birthday party held on that day.  The sky cleared up which is very nice because it was raining these past two weeks already.  It was sunny and breezy.  K had a wonderful time playing with her friends.

As a parent, we worry a lot when our children gets sick.  Common colds and cough cannot be avoided because we can catch them whether we like it or not.  To get rid of it and to keep it from getting worse, an effective cold medicine and home remedies should be taken.

Home Remedies

Honey Lemon Tea – Hot water, lemon juice, honey, tea (drink every night to sooth the throat and help loosen the mucus)

Orange Juice – Drink one cup of orange daily

Warm Bath – Take a quick warm bath before bedtime to feel fresh (except if running a fever)

Sponge Bath – If you are not feeling well to take a warm bath, a sponge bath will do.  Wet a hand towel with warm water and wipe all over the body.

In addition the above mentioned home remedies, eating more fruits, vegetables, drinking more water everyday, and plenty of rest can help get rid of sickness completely.

Medicine

Cold and Cough – You can buy medicine for cough and colds over the counter.  Always follow the dosage on stated on the label.

Nasal Spray – Nasal sprays are great to sooth the nasal passages.  Nasal passages can get swollen from sneezing and blowing the nose.  Nasal sprays can help moisturize and sooth them.

As of today, my darling daughter is back to her active self.  Though there still coughing here and there but she is getting better and better.  She’s healthy so sickness doesn’t stay long.

Toddler Tantrums ( Momimhar posted on November 22nd, 2014 )

My husband and I were so disappointed and embarrassed today.  Our darling daughter didn’t cooperate when it was time to take our portraits at the photography studio this afternoon.  I set this appointment to have our family portraits taken because the prints will arrive in about two weeks.  Then we still have time to have our greeting cards for the Holidays.  But we had to cancel because, all of a sudden, our daughter had tantrums.  She didn’t want to go to the photo room.  And worse, she was crying all of a sudden.  We were all dressed up, looking great and then we had to leave because she didn’t compose herself.  She’s feeling fine.  We told her about today’s schedule last night.  Now our weekend was ruined.  Time wasted.  Her daddy was very upset that he let her think about what she did all afternoon.

Then this evening at bedtime I asked why she was crying at the studio.  She said she wanted to go to the playground.  Well, I told her already that I will take her to the playground after the photo shoot and lunch.  She just wanted to get what she wants right there and then.  Well, she has to learn how to wait and be patient.  We have things scheduled and we have to get them done first before we can go have some leisure time.  She apologized to her daddy and me before going to bed.

I don’t know if we can still have the time to get our portraits taken next weekend.  We will be busy traveling for Thanksgiving Day.

Time Off For Myself ( Momimhar posted on October 13th, 2014 )

Hello everyone!  I am very thankful that my dear husband let me have me time yesterday.  I went on a weekend trip to have some little entertainment in Oklahoma.  We go there once in a while when we he has a few days of.  But this time we take turns on going there.  I had lots of fun.  I missed dear hubby and our little girl but I need some time off for myself once in a while – away from house chores and routine.

On my way home, I stopped by at a department store to buy some birthday gifts – for a friend’s daughter and for my niece.  I took my time.  I felt great when I got home. 🙂

How about you? What do you do or where do you go for a me time?
