It was a beautiful day.  The temperature was so perfect that we were able to stay the whole time.  So here’s the one of the much awaited event of the year in Wylie – the National Night Out (NNO) 2016.  Since we discovered this special event two years ago, my darling and I together with my cousins join the occasion. This is also an event of appreciation to the community service workers who help us keep our community safe in peace and order.  Also, this is an opportunity to meet the your neighbors.

So at the NNO there were exhibits of firetrucks and air medics, distribution of safety guidelines courtesy of the city police department, K-9 training show, barrel ride, bounce houses, obstacle course, free food and games,  and giveaways of complimentary items from sponsors and vendors.  And, of course, fireworks.

We had so much fun.  This is an annual celebration every first Tuesday of October.

Setting Up The Pool ( Momimhar posted on April 7th, 2016 )

pool

As warm weather approaches, you might begin to think about ways to keep the kids busy when they’re out of school or ways for the family to spend time together. A pool is the ideal type of entertainment, and you can often find pools that are easy to install and set up in the yard. If you’re looking for ways to save money, then consider wholesale pool pumps and filters. These are sometimes sold in multiples, so it’s best to find someone else who is going to set up a pool so that you can get the best deal possible by splitting the cost of the supplies.

Before you set up a pool, you need to find out if there are any limitations on the size, especially if you live in the city. Your local zoning office can give you the details that you need when it comes to where you can put your pool and if you need to stay within any restraints when it comes to the size or design.

Think about the depth of the pool. Your filter and pump will usually work depending on the amount of water that is in the pool, so if you find something that is a larger size, then your equipment might work overtime compared to getting something a little smaller. You also need to think about children and the depth of the water that will be safe for them.

Find a proper location in the yard for the pool. Make sure it’s flat, and place a plastic tarp under the pool so that there aren’t any sticks of debris that could puncture the lining. An idea is to clear off the area and add sand before placing the tarp. Avoid putting the pool under a tree as you don’t want leaves in the water. When the pool is in place, you can begin filling it with water. After the pool is filled with water, add all of the chemicals that are needed. You can also take this time to add any decorative details as well as the ladder and pump. All of this needs to be in place about 24 to 48 hours before you begin swimming in the water.

We Got Enough Snow And Had Fun Outdoors ( Momimhar posted on March 2nd, 2015 )

Hello March!  It was  a wonderful weekend although it was very very cold due to a winter storm.  We didn’t get that much snow but we had enough to be able to play and have fun outdoors.  My darling daughter slept in late so we didn’t go outside until around 2:00 P.M.

We were making a snowgirl again. :)

We were making a snowgirl again. 🙂

She was very upset when the snow girl we made a couple of days ago melted.  So we tried making one again today. 🙂

So white and bright all around.

My wish of a snow before Spring comes has been granted.  Two or three days of snow is quite enough.  Now we are ready for warm weather.  🙂

Nice Day To Fly A Kite ( Momimhar posted on September 10th, 2014 )

K catching the tails of the kite.

K catching the tails of the kite.

It’s a windy day today.  Nice day to fly a kite.  So after my darling daughter rode her trike and bike, we flew her kite.  She got to fly the kite first but the wind just blew it away to the bushes in our front yard.  So she let me do it.  I was flying the kite under the shade of our tree.  Then she said she’ll catch the tails of the kite.  We had so much fun.  K laughs and giggles every time she catches the tails and the kite itself.

It is close to 100 F outside but the strong breeze helps beat the heat a little bit.
