We all had a great time celebrating cousin A’s 6th birthday party held at Build-A-Bear Workshop at Firewheel Shopping Complex in Garland (TX). My darling daughter said she had a lot of fun. Every child guest received a free stuffed bear plus a free t-shirt and bows to wear. They even have names for their new stuffed bears. K named her bear Richu. Awesome.
Happy birthday, A. Thanks for inviting us. It was a happy day!
Special thanks to our wonderful friend, Mel M. for taking these lovely photos of the children. Love lots!
Boo On Ballard 2015, Foam Party Pit, And Photo With Miss Texas 2015 ( Momimhar posted on October 31st, 2015 )
Alright, so my darling daughter had firmly decided that she wanted to be Ginormica or Suzan from Monsters vs. Aliens this Halloween. I thought she would insist to be Raven from Teen Titans Go since she really liked that character in the show. So three weeks before today, I looked for Ginormica costume online. I knew it would be difficult to find one in the stores. As usual, I found one on Amazon. For the price of $9.99 with free shipping (as a Prime member), I admit that the costume was a great deal. Even though the material of the costume is 100% polyester and seems like the quality is for a one-time wear, I still bought the costume for my daughter. She really liked it. She even told me that she’s gonna wear it forever. Oh the happiness of a child is priceless.
So we went to the Boo on Ballard Street in Downtown Wylie on Thursday, October 29th, with my cousin Em and her two toddler girls, AC and Lexi. It was a huge success and it was so much fun as usual. Like other annual events in town, it’s always a well-attended event. Wylie Chamber of Commerce in cooperation of the local businesses, institutions, and the general public made this a successful event for children, youth, and the grown ups. There were lots of treats, giveaways, activities, and attractions for everyone.

Because of the very long long line of trick or treaters going counter clockwise, we didn’t finish the Trick or Treat on Ballard. We took the girls to the Glow in The Dark at the playground. We didn’t even see what other activities were in there because K and AC wanted to go to the Foam Party Pit. It was 10 minutes until the event was over so we just let the two girls go. The inflatable has a machine blowing non-toxic foam bubbles as it makes waves. The kids were having fun diving into the bubbly foam. Of course, they’re all wet and cold. When the two came out of the foam pit, Lexi wanted to go but it was 8:00 P.M. and the in-charge stopped letting kids in. K and AC had lots of fun but they got really cold. 🙂 Good thing I had a towel and a t-shirt in the trunk of my car so I lend Em the towel so she can wipe AC dry. I let K wear the big t-shirt.
Find Fun Free Story Books For Your Kids On Amazon For Kindle Fire ( Momimhar posted on September 24th, 2015 )
While I am tapping the keyboard of my laptop doing some online duties such as browsing mom blog pages, Pinterest boards, and Instagram photos, my daughter was just sitting on the couch playing with her learning game apps on her new Amazon Kindle Fire. I bought the gadget few months ago in replacement to the previous tab that was broken within a month of purchase when she accidentally dropped it on the floor. The screen cracked and there’s now way I can fix it without paying over $80 for screen replacement. So I decided to buy a new one.
My friend recommended the Amazon Kindle Fire. But she said I have to buy one with the 8 gigabytes of storage because the basic applications and software alone consumes the half of it. I am happy that my darling daughter is enjoying her new gadget. The gadget is solid and durable. Once you get familiar with the settings and navigation, it’s easy to manipulate.
My darling daughter only uses it whenever she is relaxing after dinner and, sometimes but not frequently, before bedtime. During the day, I only let her use it for an hour because she has other activities to do like working on her pre-K (pre-Kindergarten) activity book, playing outside, biking, and going to town with me on errands days. There isn’t much applications in the Kindle Fire besides a few toddler game apps.
Right now, she is reading – yes my daughter is a beginner reader already – a book from Children’s Beginner Readers Kindle Edition.
Below are the story books I downloaded to her Kindle Fire. They’re free on Amazon.
K’s cousin Lexi turned 3 few weeks ago. We were very excited to celebrate Lexi’s birthday because K and I have planned some party games for them to play. It wasn’t a big party. It was just me, K, and my cousin’s family of 4.
We were supposed to gather my cousin’s house on Lexi’s birthday weekend but our schedules didn’t meet. Lexi didn’t want to slice her birthday cake because she wanted to share it with K. I was touched by her sweetness because she thought of her cousin.
So below are the party games that K and I have planned for the special occasion.
Birthday Party Games
Freeze Dance – All children who can dance can participate in this fun game.
Knock Down The Duck – It doesn’t have to be a rubber duck, actually. Any medium-sized toy that can stand alone be used in this game. If you have a toy bow and arrow available, this game is super fun to play. Whoever knocks down the rubber duck from a certain distance wins.
Bring Me (name a color)– This game helps the kids to be alert and exercises their brain to think fast. For example, you say “Bring me something green.” The kids will go find something green and whoever brings to you the right one, wins.
Race – This is going to be an outdoor game. If you have a backyard, this racing game is great. For toddlers, getting them lined up and let them run to the designated finish line is such a fun thing to see. Whoever gets to the finish line first, wins.
K and I had the prizes ready. Would you really expect the toddlers participate in the games without a lot of questions? I mean, they’re only interested with the prizes no matter what. 🙂
Remember: Adult supervision is highly recommended and needed in every party games that kids play. Everyone’s safety is the top concern in every gathering or party.
