My dear husband and our darling daughter attended the school’s Father-Daughter Dance 2017 this evening. It was their very first Father and Daughter Dance event. My husband didn’t know what to do at the Dance so I went with them and helped him with the registration process. He thought I’d be able to go with them inside the dance hall but I can’t. Only fathers and daughters can. He didn’t bring his cellphone so they didn’t have any pictures together at the dance.
K accessorized for the dance. 🙂
When we were getting ready and while I was dressing K, she grabbed the peacock Christmas ornament and asked me to pin it on her shoulder facing forward. This kid has a big imagination on accessorizing. 🙂 She was walking carefully not to let the blue peacock fall off her shoulder.
Instead of going home after dropping of my loves, I decided to go to my cousin’s house and had a visit while waiting for the time to pick up my loves. My cousin baked some chocolate cupcakes and they were delicious.
I picked dear husband and K at 8:30 P.M.. K said she had a great time at the dance.
My family and I enjoy watching movies on weekends. Also, if there is an interesting animated movie for kids, we watch it together on Saturdays. Like this afternoon, we watched the movie Sing. My darling daughter wanted to watch The Space Between Us. But it is not appropriate for her age so I convinced her to watch something else. Luckily, Sing is still playing in the cinema in Wylie.
I thought the movie would be one of those lame animated movies. But, because it’s a musical and had a good song list (soundtrack), K and I enjoyed it. Sing was an entertaining movie with good humor in it. The animal characters sang their songs with full emotion. The story line was good.
Baby girl and I went to the cinemas and watch the Trolls movie. I thought it was just one of those exaggerated animated movies for kids that I don’t like. We found it musically entertaining, fun, cheerful, and cute. It has a bit of a fairy tale story in it. I thought Poppy would be K’s favorite. But it was Branch that she likes because he became a happy troll at the end of the movie.
So guess what she received on her 6th birthday from Mom and Dad? Trolls plush toy and Poppy’s pink wig. My baby girl was very happy. 🙂
We had a blast celebrating New Year’s at our humble home. Two of my dear husband’s co-employees and their families came over to celebrate with us. They bought fireworks and we had fun shooting fireworks in a cold New Year’s Eve. The kids had fun dancing with Just Dance on Wii U. We’re supposed to do Just Sing Karaoke too, but for some reason the CD didn’t play.
It was a great New Year’s celebration. We missed a few family and friends but they were sick and my brother-in-law and his wife already had a commitment ahead of time.
Happy New Year to you! Wishing you all the best of 2017.
It’s amazing how time flies these days. It’s Christmas time again. Are you traveling to see family and friends and spend time with them this holiday season? Or, are you staying home and host a big Christmas Party? Whichever it is, I bet it’s going be a wonderful event for everyone.
As for me and my family, we are celebrating Christmas Day at my parents-in-law’s home in Tyler. While making this post, my dear husband is currently prepping the brisket to put in the oven in a few for tomorrow’s Christmas Day dinner.
This Christmas Eve, we attended the church service at 6:00 P.M. When we got home after church and had dinner, we started the party. The children could not wait to open their Christmas presents. So after dinner, we head on and started the Christmas Party. They started opening gifts from the youngest kid to the oldest. Boy, they were so excited and anxious!
Opening Christmas presents.
So, the young ones had a great time opening their presents. I think everybody loved the stuff they got from the family. K was so excited to see if Santa will give her nice gifts for Christmas. We brought the reindeer food she received from the class Christmas Party at school since we’re at the grandparents’ house. We had to make sure Santa will stop by and drop off her presents. 🙂 Na-Na helped her scatter the reindeer food in the backyard. (FYI: Reindeer food is a mixture of oatmeal and glitters or sparkles.)
After the kids’ unwrapping presents, it was adults turn to open gifts and play the White Elephant Gift Exchange. We missed my brother-in-law and his wife in this year’s family Christmas Party because they’re both sick. Nephew M is in Florida and niece M and her family will be coming over tomorrow, Christmas Day.
It was a fun evening. So thankful for family, love, time, and the blessings we received all year.
