School Supplies Shopping For Back-to-School ( Momimhar posted on August 20th, 2016 )

Gee.  I missed the tax-free weekend shopping this month.  Me and my family went to a week-long vacation out of state.  We went to Arkansas Diamond Mine State Park in Murfreesboro and to Wegner Crystal Mine in Mount Ida.  They have been in our bucket list so we were glad we were able to go and visit these beautiful sites.  Then we headed to Beaver’s Bend State Park in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.  For us, vacation is always about adventure, enjoyment, family fun, and relaxation.  Experiencing the places we visit and making great memories are life’s treasures.

Oh, you know what?  My darling daughter has reached another milestone.  She is going to Kindergarten this year.  I am in a sentimental mode right now.  I am a stay-at-home mom and I will be missing her during the day when she’s in school.  When my husband and I first brought up the idea of schooling to our daughter K, she said she doesn’t want to go to school because she will miss me.  And if I will drop her off to school, she wants me to wait for her at the school’s parking lot. 🙂 But when we attended the Back-to School Bash event last Saturday and Meet the Teacher Day Thursday, my darling daughter somehow began to show excitement.

School supplies for back to school.

Even though I missed the tax-free weekend, I still had great deals on school supplies for back-to-school.  One of the stores I like shopping for school supplies is Walmart.  They have great prices on notebooks, pencils, crayons, glue, binders…and others.  I finished the school supplies shopping today because I don’t have a plan to drive anywhere tomorrow.  I am going to relax, enjoy the last day of sleeping late tomorrow.  Because on Monday, our lives are gonna change so much – on the first day of school.

I am happy that we are in a school district where standardized school clothing are implemented.  I do not have to worry about buying new clothes for K.  With standardized school clothes, my laundry will be reduced to about 20% every week, I think.

I bought five assorted solid-colored polo shirts from OshKosh.com for $5.00 per shirt.  The two navy skirts were bought from Walmart for $8.98 each I believe.  I got two excellent condition khaki pants, one khaki dress, and one navy dress for free from the Back-to-School Bash outgrown uniform donation.  A pair of black Mary Jane school shoes were bought today from Payless Shoe Store for $14.99. Oh, I almost forgot the Shopkins backpack was $15.98 and Peppa Pig lunch bag $8.00 are from Target.
