While I am tapping the keyboard of my laptop doing some online duties such as browsing mom blog pages, Pinterest boards, and Instagram photos, my daughter was just sitting on the couch playing with her learning game apps on her new Amazon Kindle Fire. I bought the gadget few months ago in replacement to the previous tab that was broken within a month of purchase when she accidentally dropped it on the floor. The screen cracked and there’s now way I can fix it without paying over $80 for screen replacement. So I decided to buy a new one.
My friend recommended the Amazon Kindle Fire. But she said I have to buy one with the 8 gigabytes of storage because the basic applications and software alone consumes the half of it. I am happy that my darling daughter is enjoying her new gadget. The gadget is solid and durable. Once you get familiar with the settings and navigation, it’s easy to manipulate.
DD’s Amazon Kindle Fire
My darling daughter only uses it whenever she is relaxing after dinner and, sometimes but not frequently, before bedtime. During the day, I only let her use it for an hour because she has other activities to do like working on her pre-K (pre-Kindergarten) activity book, playing outside, biking, and going to town with me on errands days. There isn’t much applications in the Kindle Fire besides a few toddler game apps.
Right now, she is reading – yes my daughter is a beginner reader already – a book from Children’s Beginner Readers Kindle Edition.
Below are the story books I downloaded to her Kindle Fire. They’re free on Amazon.

Have you tried some fig fruit? How did you like it?
When you decide to host an event through your company, it can be tempting to simply assign the job of planning to a group of your employees, rather than hiring an outside professional event planner, but there are lots of reasons why that is not a good decision. Hiring a professional event planner will not only benefit your event but will also prove advantageous to your company as a whole.
A professional event coordinator can effectively manage every aspect of your event, from small details such as invitations and table linens to big-picture things such as the overall look and feel of the event. So, instead of adding to the job description of your office manager or marketing team, it’s best to hire an outside planning company. Here are three reasons why that’s a good idea.
They have experience
Why entrust the success of a big event to people whose job descriptions don’t include event planning? Although your employees may have some very valuable skills when it comes to planning events, do they have all of the skills, experience, connections and know-how to pull it off like the pros can? Probably not. Instead, hire a professional planning team who have all of the qualities and skills necessary to focus on your event.
They can avoid pitfalls
A professional event planner knows all about what can go wrong at an event – and they know how to deal with things as they crop up. Although steps can be taken to avoid mishaps, there’s no way to completely avoid things from happening. When you hire a professional event planner, they can be on hand to deal with things as they come up, and to put out fires as necessary. They are experts in dealing with crises and can address issues on the fly.
Your employees can focus on their jobs
When you assign tasks to an employee that are outside of his job description, naturally you are going to, in some way or other, be taking away time that that person could be using to do their regular jobs. When it comes to planning large-scale events such as trade shows, there is a potential for employees’ attention to be taken away from their regular jobs for months. That can hamper productivity quite dramatically! Instead, hire a dedicated event planner to take care of things for you. Then, your employees can get back to the jobs for which they were hired (and in which they specialize!). Unless you are going to employ an event-planning team full time (which really isn’t feasible in most cases) it’s probably most efficient and effective to hire an outside event planning team to handle your event. They can handle all aspects of the planning, execution and crisis management for your event, leaving you and your employees to do your jobs.
K’s cousin Lexi turned 3 few weeks ago. We were very excited to celebrate Lexi’s birthday because K and I have planned some party games for them to play. It wasn’t a big party. It was just me, K, and my cousin’s family of 4.
We were supposed to gather my cousin’s house on Lexi’s birthday weekend but our schedules didn’t meet. Lexi didn’t want to slice her birthday cake because she wanted to share it with K. I was touched by her sweetness because she thought of her cousin.
So below are the party games that K and I have planned for the special occasion.
Birthday Party Games
Freeze Dance – All children who can dance can participate in this fun game.
Knock Down The Duck – It doesn’t have to be a rubber duck, actually. Any medium-sized toy that can stand alone be used in this game. If you have a toy bow and arrow available, this game is super fun to play. Whoever knocks down the rubber duck from a certain distance wins.
Bring Me (name a color)– This game helps the kids to be alert and exercises their brain to think fast. For example, you say “Bring me something green.” The kids will go find something green and whoever brings to you the right one, wins.
Race – This is going to be an outdoor game. If you have a backyard, this racing game is great. For toddlers, getting them lined up and let them run to the designated finish line is such a fun thing to see. Whoever gets to the finish line first, wins.
K and I had the prizes ready. Would you really expect the toddlers participate in the games without a lot of questions? I mean, they’re only interested with the prizes no matter what. 🙂
Remember: Adult supervision is highly recommended and needed in every party games that kids play. Everyone’s safety is the top concern in every gathering or party.

Besides shoes, uniforms, papers and pens, one of the most important back-to-school supplies are handbags and backpacks. When my siblings and I were younger, we’re really get excited when the school starts. Even though we were poor, we tried our best to finish school. We lack of something more often but we survived the tough times.
To be honest, I didn’t have a decent bag for my school things. So I just carried my stuff to school everyday in my arms. I envy those students who carries backpacks and nice handbags to school. I thought to myself, I will be able to buy one for myself and each for my siblings someday. Though it didn’t happen sooner, I was happy that me and my siblings were able to finish school with flying colors despite of difficult times.
Now that we are grown ups and have our own kids, we do our very best to provide for their needs especially when school requirements are concerned. It was back to school two weeks ago. My niece and nephews were all set. They have new school supplies, new uniforms, and bags. My sister, brother, and I were shopping for backpacks for the kids. We were looking for ones that will last for a very long time. That means they should be durable. There were a lot of styles and brands but ZALORA’s collection of Jansport bags is pretty awesome!
Cute Jansport backpack
I was dreaming of this backpack before. It’s simple yet durable. The size is just right for carry on. And with proper use and care, it will stay for a very long while. This is truly great for back to school.
