The Explorer
Get thee to a playground. Explorers are bundles of energy. These little go-getters prefer movement to sedentary activities—banging, poking, tearing, throwing. Large-motor skills are their forte, and they tend to be early walkers. They’ll enjoy building a block tower as long as they can knock it over afterwards. A lot of their make-believe play involves zooming around like a horsey or airplane. Playtime with kids their own age usually involves playing chase, jumping up and down, and sliding down furniture. Their love of movement extends to turning the pages of books, especially flap books.
Yes, my darling daughter is an explorer. She loves examining things around her-big and small. She also loves collecting things that she finds and she calls them ‘treasures’. When unsure about something, she doesn’t hesitate to ask questions. Hungry for knowledge and curious about any thing. She is super active and enjoys playing pretend.
As a pre-schooler, my DD is now interested with activity books like coloring, painting, trace…etc. So I buy Pre-school or Pre-K activity books that will get her Math, writing, shapes, ABC’s, and comprehension a start.
