Our little girls enjoying being outdoors and with friends.
“Children learn best through their everyday experiences with the people they love and trust, and when the learning is fun. And the best place for these experiences is outdoors, in the natural world.” – Center for Families, Communities, Schools and Children’s Learning.
“Ordinary, no
Really don’t think so
Not a love this true
Common destiny
We were meant to be
Me and you…”
To have and to hold forever.
June 2006 – It was a very busy weekend at work. I worked overtime whole day one Saturday. I was so tired. On my way home I stopped at a 7-Eleven convenience store to buy a sandwich and a drink. That was my dinner. I saw a computer rental shop close by and I thought “I deserve a relaxation. An hour of surfing the Internet won’t hurt.” I felt a little cheer because after two years of being inactive on the net, I was able to check it out again. Then I tried logging in into my FilipinoFriendFinder.com account. I was surprised my account was still alive. 🙂 The first profile of a guy I saw had a tag line that says: “I want to meet someone who will teach me how to speak Tagalog.” I thought, “I can do that.” Then I looked at his profile. I was impressed. And a crazy feeling has built up immediately as soon as I saw his picture. From that moment on, I had a crush on him. So I sent a private message saying that I can teach Tagalog if he is still interested. Time was up. I went home. And that evening, I kept thinking about his handsome face. At 30, I was like a teenager again. The first time I saw his photo, I was swept away. I didn’t expect him to respond to my message. But I wished for it.
Monday evening, on my way home I stopped by at a computer rental again and checked my messages. I was surprised and happy. My darling responded to my message. Kilig to the bones ako! From then on we exchanged emails, chatted on YM messenger, and talked over the phone (every weekend) which became the start of the getting-to-know process. And I was always looking forward to the weekend when it’s telephoning time. I was missing his husky voice. He sent me love letters thru emails every day. On special occasions, he’s sending me flowers. We were dating online and became boyfriend-girlfriend. I found him very sweet and funny. Our feelings for each other were justified when we got to meet in person in Manila in March 2007. He was the man I wished for: kind-hearted, funny, and a gentleman. I wasn’t born with a golden spoon in my mouth but he accepted me for who I am and where I came from. I accepted everything about him, too. He was a divorcee. Broken-hearted twice. I told him his love is safe with me. My love for him is ’til the end of time.
Two people totally strangers with different languages but we are compatible in so many things. Language didn’t became a hindrance to get us close together. My man proposed to me in April 2007 in the presence of my family. To me, that was the very romantic gesture. I was swept away…again. We became husband and wife in April 2008 in Tyler, Texas. Blessed with a lovely daughter in 2010.
My family.
The love song Me and You is my hubby’s song for me. Every time it plays in our home or in his truck, he sings along…grabs my hand…gives it a kiss and says, “I love you so much, baby.” My love for my husband gets stronger and stronger as days pass by. We want a harmonious, happy marriage and we are living in it.
“Everyday I live
Try my best to give
All I have to you
Thank the stars above
That we share this love
Me and you…”
*Excerpts from the song Me and You by Kenny Chesney.
We went to a play date again at my girl friend’s house this afternoon. I didn’t know that she was celebrating her eldest daughter’s birthday today too. So my daughter and I went to the store and bought a birthday present and a greeting card for the celebrant. I advised my friend that we will be a bit late because we will be coming from the library after the story time.
My cousin and her two girls were already there when we arrived. The children were very glad to see DD. They headed toward the playground in the backyard immediately. My darling daughter enjoys playing with her cousins and my friend’s daughters. Sometimes she asks me when she can play with them again.
I told my husband that we have to buy a play set for her so she can play in the backyard in the spring, summer, and fall. I think our daughter is big enough to enjoy a backyard play set. And, I think, it will save us time and gas to drive to the play areas in the mall or to the playground in town. If we do want to go to town, it will be once in a while. I haven’t received a confirmation yet.
Anyway, it was a great party. As usual, DD didn’t want to go home.
