Visited ninang and ninong today. After the 4th of July, we haven’t got together with my DD’s godmother and her family. Today we got the chance to schedule a visit with them. Our couple friend prepared lunch for us. They were happy to see the little one, of course.
In Philippine tradition, godparents serve as the second parents of a child. They give guidance, help, and advice to the child when he or she needs it. They treat the godchild as their own, too.
What excites DD the most was to see their pets. Her godparents have three poodle dogs. The little had a great time chasing and playing with them. She even told us that she wants a dog. Oh my! I don’t think we can afford to have a pet right now. We only have one child but our house is a mess! Hahaha! Sometimes I cannot keep up with the chores. Being a full time wife and stay-at-home mom really needs time and effective organization. That’s why I don’t hesitate asking for advice especially when I need it.
Today, was total fun with our friends. We had good and funny conversations that made our day. It’s great to visit friends once in a while. It keeps the bond of friendship strong. Plus, DD gets lots of treats too. 🙂
Filipino words ninang and ninong are godmother and godfather in English.
The Ninong and Ninang stand as the second parent. Here in the Philippines we give importance to our child’s godparents, we really do select the best of the best when it comes to it 🙂
Looks like you had a wonderful bonding day. I wish I have ninong and ninang in this life. But I belong to a religion where we are not baptized as babies.
This post made me miss my god parents, it’s really good to always let our children visit their god parents so they’ll have a bonding/connection until they grow up. 🙂
About sa dogs, I own 1 and sobrang hirap talaga mag alaga especially pag may kids. hehe
That’s nice to hear. I enjoy reading your post!
Awwww wish we are close by so we could visit each other Mare.
Oo nga mare. Di bale we’re keeping in touch naman online. 🙂
Looks like you had a wonderful day with Ninong and Ninang. 🙂 It’s really nice that you are able to spend time with them. Many just visit their godparents during Christmas or birthdays.
i can just imagine their happiness looking forward to see the poodles but of course, it’s always fun time to visit grand parents
Sounds like a fun and heartwarming reunion 🙂 bet everyone were happy
Awe! That is so nice. I miss visiting friends and spending time with them. I miss my friends back in Pinas. That is so sweet your little one got to have some fun time too.
