Big Savings On San Antonio Vacation Experience (SAVE) ( Momimhar posted on July 19th, 2012 )

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of SAVE for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It was three years ago when my husband took me down to South Texas for a vacation. And it was my first time to visit San Antonio. We had a wonderful time at SeaWorld. The hotel accommodation was cheap because of Limited Time Offers promo that was an inviting deal. The enjoyable experience at SeaWorld San Antonio was one of the most memorable moment of my life. I thought, it would be best when we go back there with my darling daughter now that she is a toddler. In the next couple of years, she will start appreciating the beautiful scenery and rides at SeaWorld in San Antonio.

My husband and I were thinking of going when we get back from our travel to the Philippines. Now that I learned about SAVE (San Antonio Vacation Experience), hotel bookings and visits to the city's great attractions will cost us less than before. Of course, we would like to save on hotel room accommodation because it will be definitely more than a 4-day stay. In addition, we will visit Schlitterbahn this time. It has been in our plan since. I already have an acitivity plan on mind for our next visit to San Antonio.

Day 1 – Check in at Holiday Inn Express Rivercenter Area with SAVE rates from $59 per night. Dinner at one of the restaurants along the Riverwalk area.

Day 2 – Adventure begins. After a big breakfast at the hotel, we will go to the Alamo IMAX Theatre Rivercenter. Free child's admission. My daughter will have a great time for sure. Then we will watch water shows at SeaWorld that includes seeing Shamu. Visiting the huge aquarium would be cool. And lining up in the kids ride is precious. With SAVE, SeaWorld offers multiple discounts on rides and shows. We will probably won't stay too long roaming around in the heat. So we'll likely head back and stop by at the San Antonio Botanical Garden for a couple of hours of relaxation. There's a $1 OFF admission fee with SAVE. Back to the hotel, have a big dinner, and call it a day.

Day 3 – Shopping Day! Woohoo! After yummy breakfast at the hotel, we will stroll along the Riverwalk in the morning. Then I will go to the Market Square again where discounts on purchases are nice. Then I will see my favorite department store in The Shops at La Cantera. The mall offers Free Premier Passport which entitles traveling shoppers to exclusive discounts and promos. Day 3 of the vacation is like cooling of for us. We'll take it easy and enjoy the day of bonding together as a family. A special dinner in our favorite restaurant in the Riverwalk will end the terrific day.

Day 4 – Check out. Head home. 🙂

See, with SAVE – San Antonio Vacation Experience, the whole vacation in San Antionio will totally cost you less. With special discounts and privilege, travelers can enjoy more of the place. Recreation Area At The Park ( Momimhar posted on July 7th, 2012 )

One of the important responsibilities of being a parent is to be able to give his or her child the time to enjoy recreation.  There are plenty of outdoor activities that kids enjoy in the summer.  One of them is the mini splash water park located in the city park or, for exclusive subdivisions, in the neighborhood parks.

Toddlers like my cousin’s and my own can join big girls and boys in the mini water park.  Yesterday, we visited my in-laws and they took us to the park where there is a mini water park.  The kids enjoyed splash and showers coming out of the small pipes, tiny holes in the ground, and buckets hanging on a pole.

My daughter was accompanied by her daddy because I did not bring well, I did not have my women swimwear on.  In  addition to that, I was not in the mood going to the park because of the heat until we got there.  The water was so inviting.  Anyway, my little girl enjoyed being in the water.  Though she doesn’t know what to do when the water gets on her face, I knew she had a great time.

It is one way of letting your kids become sociable and confident with the things around them.  We can observe how they react on a situation.  Even at a young age, social skills in toddlers are very essential so they know that they are a part of this world.

Helping Your Toddler Develop His Motor Skills ( Momimhar posted on July 4th, 2012 )

Kids who are between the ages of 12 months and 30 months old are what we call toddlers. This is the time in a child’s life that is just between the infant stage of life and the preschool age of life. This is the time that they begin to walk. They learn to be independent and they try to do so much by themselves. They try to master some of the gross motor skills and fine motor skills that they need to interact with the environment around them. Our children develop these fine motor skills naturally through means of playing appropriately. Toddlers need a good bit of time to explore with toys that are
age appropriate to them. They need to experiment and be able to learn how to manipulate things. They need to learn how to play with art materials. Below are a few tips for helping your toddler learn how to better develop their motor skills.

Toys – One way to help your toddler develop their motor skills is by having a large container of all different types’ and sizes of toys for them to play with. Let your child dump them out and fill the container back up. You will find that your toddler progresses every day in picking up the toys and putting them in the container. Even the act of dumping the toys out on the floor will do wonders for developing their fine motor muscles. The hands, wrists and fingers all get a great muscular benefit from this minor little task.

Fingers/Hands – Give your toddler some finger foods so that they can learn to manipulate and hold these small items with their fingers. When they learn to pick up little things such as green peas, green beans, small pieces of cereal and cut up foods, it helps them to learn how to use their fingers. To give
your toddler an opportunity to practice his motor development, let them practice as much as you can with a spoon, fork and drinking through a straw as well. Lots of good eye/hand coordination will be learned, and using their thumbs and index fingers will teach them how to hold objects and pick them up as well. The pincer grip is also learned by these skills which is the skill that teaches a toddler how to learn to hold a pencil or crayon. These skills will help later when they begin to color and write.

Stacking and Sorting – Toys that let toddlers learn how to stack, sort and lace teach them how to enhance their motor skills. When toddlers sort toys out and stack toys this teaches them how to manipulate things with their fingers and hands. It also lets them develop more of the hand and eye coordination. Shape sorters are fun for toddlers too, but they don’t give the same benefit of sorting colored objects which helps more. Shoelaces or cut out laminated boards that allow toddlers to lace things through holes are great for motor skills. Lacing, which mimics the sewing technique, helps the
toddler with their grasping skills.

Clay/Crayons – When you allow your toddler to play with art materials such as crayons, paper and modeling clay the will learn to be much more creative. The motions they use squeezing for the clay will strengthen their finger and hand muscles as well as the wrists. Toddlers generally hold a crayon first with their wrist and then learn later how to move it to the fingers.

We as parents can help our toddlers stimulate their motor skills by teaching them these things as well as learning how to do things independently. Try a few of the tips above and watch how much quicker your child’s motor skills develop.

Teeth Marks On The Tomato ( Momimhar posted on July 1st, 2012 )

Teeth marks on the tomato. :)

Teeth marks on the tomato. 🙂

Somebody couldn’t wait.  🙂  My dear husband and I together with our little one picked some vegetables in our small vegetable garden this afternoon.  Knowing our darling daughter, she loves tomatoes.  She likes to help pick them.  So we let her take these two tomatoes back to the house.  Not even at the door, she said she wants to eat them right now.  She gave one a bite.  I think that was funny and cute.

It’s really nice to know that DD loves to eat vegetables.  Besides tomatoes, she likes broccoli and green beans.  When I make stir-fry or soup, I add some green leafy vegetables for her to try.  She doesn’t complain because I mixed them in rice or meat.  Most of the time she eats green salad.  She loves it with ranch dressing.

These tomatoes went to her salad for dinner.  And oh, she also likes the tomatoes dipped in soy sauce.
