The First Day Of School Was Fine ( Momimhar posted on June 8th, 2012 )

The first day of school went very well.  My niece and nephews did not have problems with their class schedules or anything.  My sister is, however, just enrolled this week.  She is in third year college now.  How fast time flies.  Her school required them to attend a training at Red Cross Philippines.  The training in Red Cross was to give them knowledge on how to care for a patient in emergency.  This school year my sister and her class will be having duties in the operating room.  The nursing books are getting more expensive now.  My husband and I are doing our best to provide for my sister’s school needs.

On the other hand, my niece and nephews were excited about school.  My niece, who is in 2nd year high school, thought she and her classmates are included in those students who will be required to wear a new uniform in different color.  The high school administration in our town back home, in compliance to the public school region’s new policy on uniforms, is implementing a change of school uniform for high school students effective this school year to the incoming freshmen.  So sophomores and juniors will retain wearing the old uniform until next school year.

My nephew who is in the 4th Grade now is happy that he got new pair of shoes.  My other nephew who is enrolled in a Summer Day Care is very glad that we bought a trolly bag for him.  At first, he was hesitant entering his class because he thought the teacher is unfriendly.  But with proper encouragement from the grandparents and his mom and dad, he goes to class now.

As usual, everybody got new school supplies and some new clothing for school.  What we are still needing right now are raincoats and boots because June is the beginning of rainy season in the Philippines.  These will help protect the kids from getting sick.
