Modern And Intelligent ( Momimhar posted on March 29th, 2012 )

A primary school in Paris is the first public building to be heated using a novel new source of renewable energy – power from the city’s sewers, where temperatures range from 12 to 20 degrees Celsius.  The odorless heat is extracted from warm wastewater coming from showers, dishwashers and washing machines.  Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe says the experiment is “very modern and intelligent.”  The school will get 70 percent of its heat from the project.  Other parts of the world have used the same heat source, but it’s not always practical and there is a huge initial cost associated with setting up the infrastructure.
